  • Did you see yesterday - June 11th was Vince Lombardi’s birthday

It was Vince Lombardi's birthday yesterday, he'd have turned 113.

You would think it be a state holiday in Wisconsin.

You know Madtown, it’s odd that a Vince Lombardi birthday post wouldn’t have Packer fans at least saying, “gawd love him.”

It’s probably just me but after 45 years as a Packer fan I’d be laying down Roses, for sure paying some sort of mention.

Most of us never watched a Lombardi team. But grateful that he hung some Banners. Curly Lambeau might be more deserving of a state holiday though.

Exactly what I was about to write, and I did watch the Lombardi teams, all of them, including the Redskins. He was a great coach for his time, but Lambeau was far more significant in Packer history.

I tend to disagree, and I did see some Lombardi games, and heard on the radio at least some Lambeau games. Curly was just one of many medium small town founders. He gets credit for not folding and moving like many others, but he really wasn't that unique. Vince literally saved the franchise from at very least moving after it really floundered for a few years. He also brought the team into the modern era (along with the villainous Halas and Pete Rozelle. Lambeau was great, but Lombardi was greater.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?
