What’s wrong with Uncle Zack?

Recovering from a partial PCL tear suffered last season. You probably know PCL recoveries are iffy but it sounds like ZBB's is going well.
Seemed like dude was never healthy last season, starting with game 1 when Aidan Hutchinson gave him a questionable block during a Brian Branch interception that was called back.

I don't know what the impact of a lacerated kidney is, but I know Chris Simms almost died from a lacerated spleen. Have to think any kind of injury like that is no joke. Agree they may pick up a TE3 during cutdowns, TEs were way overdrafted this year as teams move to using more 12 and 13 personnel. I kinda think GB should lean the other way and go more 11 with Watson, Golden and Reed.

I will not be shocked if the TE’s on our roster for the first game are not currently part of the team.

We will either grab at least two after cutdowns or ship a 7th round pick for someone.

Or sign Zach Ertz.

This could be an evergreen comment about Golden. All he does is get open and catch the ball. He hasn’t made any big downfield catches. It’s 8 yards here and 10 yards there, quite often on third down. Late in practice, for instance, he beat Brandon Cisse on an out to move the chains on third-and-6.

Love gave an interview where he said Golden was locked in as the X receiver, which is the old Split End, weak side of the formation spot. He will get one on one matchups more often from that spot unless they change strength or motion pre-snap.

His job will be to make tough catches one on one to move chain very much like Doubs. So far he looks up to the task.

Morgan getting good reviews at LT in pass pro. In his one defeat was reported by Mosqueda at Acme Packer as a speed rush win for Barryn Sorrell, which is also good news as he seems (perhaps along with Cox) to be the likely next man up for Parsons.

My man. I liked his skill set from tape I saw in college. I can't say I saw him play many games, but he moves well, has decent balance and decent hands. I didn't see flaws is what it came down to. Sort of like Zach Bako Beweles Alcinder. Ok, gonna refer to him as ZBB from now on.

In other news, and chalk this up to trying to find any nugget of insight in camp, LVN and Morgan seem to be having some Kampman/Clifton type camp battles. I like these battles as it sharpens both guys. When game day feels like a day off thats a good thing. Again, I could be reading too much into it, but 2 years ago I thought I saw enough nuggets to know that Evan Whiskey was taking the safety job from Bullard. Sometimes you have to really read between the lines.

Williams might get a look at RT, if he hasn't already. LVN has really been getting the better of Kinnard.

Cisse is surprising me, but this is camp, not a game. I will be pleased to be wrong on him and have him ball out (not that I think he is awful I just think he needs a lot of work on coverage techniques.)

Packers have to be happy to far with 3 draft picks. McClellan, Dani Dennis Sutton and Brandon Cisse have all had some very good moments, including reps with the 1's. Jager Burton got hurt 1st day of practice and missed a few days. He's back now and playing with the 2's. Trey Smack has been up and down. Missed a few kicks (one was a bad snap). Has hit a couple 50+. Winds can be rough on that practice field. Worse than inside Lambeau. He did not kick today. Definitely a work in progress. Don't know what's up with Domani Jackson. He's not listed as hurt, but haven't heard a thing about him.

One interesting note in camp is that 2025 draft pick John Williams, who missed his rookie season with a back injury, has been playing all three offensive line spots in camp so far. He’s had to bounce all over with the second-team unit, as the team continues to keep Aaron Banks and Zach Bako-Bewele (formerly Tom) out of team drills. Overall, the team has been pretty conservative with returning their players to team periods following an injury.

Jordan Morgan just showed why his athleticism is suited for left tackle. Beat Lukas Van Ness on first three 1v1 reps. 1) Stood up Van Ness on bull 2) Ushered Van Ness outside on speed 3) Mirrored Van Ness on inside out move Good start for Jordan Love’s new blindside blocker.

Barryn Sorrell had an impressive start to 1v1. Beat Darian Kinnard on bull rush. Later, handed Jordan Morgan his lone loss on outside speed. Really intriguing blend of burst and power.

Beautiful throw from Love to Whyle up the sideline maybe a bit of a wheel. Love wanted to uncork deep but nothing doing. Swung it out to Lloyd but missed him. Jaylin Simpson with a nice run stuff of Lloyd in the backfield. Oladapo all over a swing pass to Swinson.

McDuffie and Cox all over a run by Strong. Forced inside by the corners and safeties flying to the ball. Second series of offense is back to the normal OL of Morgan - Monk - Rhyan - Belton - Kinnard Love to Jacobs on a bootleg throwback screen for a really nice gain.

Chris McClellan with an immediate sack of Kyron Drones. Watson just easily ran away from Cisse on a crosser. Nice job leading him by Love. Kinnard false start. Back to back completions from Love to Golden. These last two days Golden has been the security / easy completion guy for love.

Williams on a safety blitz forced Love to throw quick and incomplete. Savion Williams nice catch over the middle from Tyrod Mark Perry all over a swing pass to Martinez. Oladapo with a quick stop on a short completion. McDuffie - Mosby - Oladapo all get to the QB on an overload blitz.

Skyy Moore just took a sweep outside for a nice gain with the twos. Some debate if he was lined up at RB or if it was a jet sweep from WR. St-Juste nice PBU on Neyor over the middle. Drones up the seam to Lloyd - had him but missed him. Hopper stuffs a run on 3rd down.

Franklin stuffs a toss play to Jacobs. Old school draw play to Jacobs out of shotgun for a nice pickup. Bullard all over Dabney for a short pickup. Love to Golden along the sidelines on a comeback. Those two are really building a nice connection. Cisse in coverage.
