The Packers worked out 9 players today. 4 of them were running backs. They need camp bodies with Brooks down for now, judging by this list. But if they lose Jacobs, they are either going to need to get lucky in camp cutdowns or make a trade (Cardinals most often mentioned).

Luke Musgrave? Not good. That guy, if he's going to resurrect his career as a former second-round pick, needs to show something. Not good.

This trait in your list, Joe, on Dillon Wade, really struck me: "Catches instead of punching."

I know zero about him, but based on the description he fits the previous mold of handling guys in space. If he can make gameday rosters I could see using him as a 6th OL maybe even lining up off ball in desired short down packages. Or he could flame out and be worthless.

I thought the same thing. He would have been a better fit before they signed Aaron Banks and drafted Belton. But who knows? If Packers move on from Banks and Jacobs after this year, maybe they go back to being more of a wide zone team. Not a bad guy to develop, probably on PS this year.

Dillon Wade, Green Bay Packers, IOL

Dillon Wade started 48 career college games at various positions. The Green Bay Packers added a durable, versatile, and athletic offensive lineman in undrafted free agency. The former Tulsa transfer impressed coaches during offseason workouts (rookie minicamp, OTAs, mandatory minicamp). Wade ran a 5.02 and leaped a 28.5-inch vertical and 8-foot-8 broad jump at the NFL Combine.

Overview

Four-year starter who is built for wide zone and long pulls. Wade is hyper-athletic but a little undersized and lacks the desired play strength. He can get into space and adjusts to moving targets to help spring explosive runs, but he will struggle to neutralize opponents as a gap-scheme blocker. He has quick eyes and can mirror athletic rushers. He will give way to force once he gets behind in the rep, though. Wade is scheme-dependent, which could limit his suitors, but cross-training at center might improve his odds for success.

Strengths

One of the more athletic, natural movers you will find at guard.

• Excellent radar finds and centers second-level targets.
• Stays connected to the block through positioning and foot chop.
• Keeps head on a swivel and can mirror rushers to either edge.
• Ready, independent hands search and find pass-pro targets.
• Outstanding reactive quickness to recover and secure in both phases.

Weaknesses

• Lacks desired length and mass for guard spot.
• Plays with excessive pre-strike movement in run game.
• Positional blocker with little to no drive strength in his lowers.
• Baited out of position by Baylor with delayed blitz games.
• Catches instead of punching and lacks redirect power on his edges.
• Might not be able to withstand NFL bull rushers without help.

The opposite of letting Casey Hayward walk because of injuries. Wyatt is excellent rushing the passer and if we switch to a run penetration scheme he will excel at that too. This time we kept the injured guy who will make a few pro bowls after his rookie deal.

Paid comparably to the Titans John Franklin-Myers according to Acme Packing Company which was their prediction. Going by Spotrac and OTC seems to be the 18th or 19th most expensive lineman. Not bad for good pass rush. He is needed.

But man he, Watson and Reed need to stay healthy. I think Watson has turned a corner. We will see.

The Packers have signed LB Isaiah McDuffie to a one-year extension, according to Over The Cap. McDuffie's 2026 cap number is $4.725 million, and his 2027 cap number is $5.1 million.
