TAMPA, Fla. -- The cloud of uncertainty surrounding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and quarterback Baker Mayfield has lifted. Just five days before the start of the their 2026 regular season, Mayfield and the Bucs struck a deal on a contract extension.

Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network Ian Rapoport on Tuesday it's a three-year extension worth $165 million.

The NFL is getting ridiculous. Professional sports is getting ridiculous. And by "professional sports," I include college football.

Loins fans here in the Motor City are hopeful but not sounding too cocky. Wait-and-see, much like Green Bay fans. But a convincing win against the Aints will have them posturing and preening in no time.

Well the bloom came off New England's rose quickly. They didn't trust their O line in pass blocking (ran 60% of the time on first down) and at the end of the game went full McCarthy/Rodgers and tried to pass their way to the end zone from the 25. But since Maye isn't Rodgers, he panicked and tossed an INT.

Also: Per TruMedia, the Patriots had a 35.8% Rushing Success Rate on 1st and 2nd down tonight, which would've surpassed the Cleveland Browns for worst Rushing Success Rate on early downs (via Bluesky, JP Acosta)

Would be fun to see McDaniels stripped of play calling
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I would’ve thought Green Bay would’ve lead the all-time stats for shittiest run success on first down last year.

isn’t Drake Maye only in Year Two?

Drafted same year, 2024, as JJ McCarthy, the Vikings best QB in decades. They are both in their third year.

                    Fuk the niners!!

For those that don’t understand. All I can tell you is their fans are pretty much a West Coast version of bears fans. Wasn’t always so, but somewhere along the line the fanbase changed.

49ers looking really good. They are the 2nd oldest team, so health could be a factor as season goes on.

They have already had two players carted off today.

If it wouldn't be so confusing, the league should change the moniker from "NFL" to "NIL" - the National Injury League.

It is darkly funny that the "we have to hit in camp and practice in pads three days in a row" coach is leading the team with the craziest total of injuries year after year. Almost like there is a correlation between hitting and injuries. And that "building up the callus" is a bunch of bullshit.

Indiana's coach Cignetti is exactly the opposite. Two of the Hoosier draftees on the 49ers are currently hurt.
