    Official Packers vs Falcons Discussion Thread

    Packers lead all-time series 19-17. 17-15 in regular season. 2-2 in playoffs.

    Last meeting: September 17, 2023. Packers lost to the Falcons 25-24 in Atlanta. Packer led 24-12 after 3 quarters before Falcons scored 13 straight in the 4th quarter for the win. Jordan Love threw for 151 yards and 3 TD's. Jayden Reed caught 4 passes for 37 yards and 2 TD's. For the Falcons, Bijan Robinson rushed for 124 yards and caught 4 passes for 48 yards.

    Falcons come into the game 0-2, having lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-13 and to the Carolina Panthers 34-3. Bijan Robinson is their top offensive player having rushed for 155 yards and having caught 11 passes for 99 yards. Cooper Rush and Jack Strand have been the quarterbacks. They have completed 55.6% of passes for 247 yards with 1 TD and 5 INT's. However, Michael Penix could be back this week. WR Drake London has had a disappointing start to the season with just 6 catches for 80 yards. Falcons defense ranks 22nd in points allowed, 12th in yards allowed. Opposing QB's have completed 61% of passes for 478 yards, with 4 TD's and 0 INT's. They have sacked opposing QB's 4 times, led by Z Smith with 2.5.

    I'll be in Wisconsin, but sadly can't make the game. But I'll be watching on TV.

    Packers by 7?? Not sure we should be laying 7 to GB Prebble high school boys right now.

        At least we showed some fight in New York - that OT defense is what we need to see.

        Now we play an even crappier team than we are for our home opener.

          If the spread is 7 how could you possibly not take Atlanta?
          Yes it’s our home opener but we have looked awful.

          But at least we have showed some fight!

            This is one of those games, like those in the 80's, where the Packers win and you start hoping that they're on the upswing, and then in the next couple weeks you realize, nope, it's just that the Falcons were even worse.

                The D has been very solid this year. I am impressed with the improvement over last year. They just need to be disciplined and stop getting stupid penalties.

                The O has been very disjointed. The OL has been horrible. The play calling has been awful at times.

                If the D gets their shit cleaned up, we will be in almost every game this year. Full Stop.

                We should win simply because ATL isn't a good team. Stop Bijan should be the whole defensive scheme.
                But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

                  This game is on damn Amazon Prime. Fortunately for anybody not wanting to pay for that crap, the game is on - free - on NFL Network at 11:30 Thursday night.
                  What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

                      Packers WR Jayden Reed injured his back Sunday, per source. After spending the night in New Jersey, he soon will be returning to Green Bay, with the team still is evaluating the best treatment and recovery time frame.​

                        The Falcons are starting Michael Penix Jr for Week 3, as QB1 makes his first start. Penix has deemed his reconstructed ACL ready after splitting reps last week with the 1. The Packers loom on Thursday.

                          I've got YouTube TV as my main provider. So NFL Network is free for me. I'm not sure if NFL Network costs anything with other providers.

                          Sorry to say, but I wimped out of the prediction contest. After getting a late start, I picked two upsets to try and catch up. Neither came through. Combine that with making the Packers my 16 point pick and being so depressed and pissed off after Week One, I just quit. Sorry.
