Packers Sign Mekhi Becton

Former Jet, former Eagle, former Charger. Former LT, RT and Guard (with the Eagles, unsure of where he lined up with the Chargers).

He was successful with the Eagles and much less so with the Chargers.

Problem is, Packers O line and coaching seem much more in line with the Chargers than the Eagles at this point.

Rumored he had a shoulder problem in LA that was not on the injury report but no one has confirmed that.

Mekhi Becton had labrum surgery in late March after not knowing he played with it torn last season. Played around 360 pounds last year and he's down to 345. He's healthy now. Let's see if he can help the Packers.

Wow. Another Chargers football Doc screw-up? That team is cursed medically.

He played RG for the Charger last year and I think RG for the Eagles.

Also, Tomlinson has been put on the active 53. Changes are coming. Becton is on the PS. Gute has punted on the youth movement, at least phase 1.

UPDATE: Tomlinson’s addition to the Packers’ 53-man roster was made official on Monday, as was Becton’s signing. However, the Packers have signed Becton to the practice squad, not to the 53-man roster, at least for the time being. This means that the Packers only needed to free up one spot on the 53 for Tomlinson, which they did by placing Bako-Bewele on injured reserve.

Only 6 months post shoulder surgery, so hopefully the shoulder is strong enough. At this point, any help at guard is more than welcome.
