Dallas is rested but this is at home for GB.
I'd think a shootout, and I'd expect GB to be favored, but who knows. I feel like GB is so inconsistent I don't know what they'll be like week to week.
Dak was sorta inexplicably bad last week. If he returns to form, yeah, as somebody said, he's way better than what we've faced (other than Penix). Veteran that he is, though, he occasionally throws it to the other team, and he seemingly can be tricked into it. Hopefully, Gannon - helped by his history with the Eagles - can set up some traps. If Keisan can't play, it will be interesting to see what his replacement(s) does. I wouldn't be surprised to see some addition by subtraction. There was a lot of off-season talk of Gannon's D being ideal for McKinney to thrive - which of course didn't happen until the Bears game. Whatever they did, a lot of zone or whatever, I hope they do it again.

Dallas's running game has not done well despite having a lot of investment of money and picks in their O Line. Hopefully, the Packers D doesn't let that come back to life.

As for the validly stated badness of the Dallas D, I HOPE LaFleur learned something las week and goes a lot more pass first - long bombs if they are available or at least mid-range throwing it downfield, NOT his seemingly twin favorites, early down running and those shitty little sideways passes.

We really should beat them, comfortably if they are as ragged as last week or shootout if their offense bounces back.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Geez, Campbell worked his ass off to get noticed and make the 53. Now would've been his moment to step up and shine, but he's hurt. The NFL is cruel.

He is trending healthier though. He was not practicing prior to this week.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Fair, and while I think Dallas pass defense is...not great, they now have Joey Porter Jr. and they seem to be especially leaky on run defense. If GB can't run on Dallas and can't pressure Dak/contain their WRs (or tackle Javonte Williams) this could be ugly.

I do think that the OL has improved, especially in pass pro, which should allow Love and the trio of Watson, Golden and Kraft to stress any secondary.
Of course, the usual disclaimer about penalties, drops, and turnovers also applies.

Jonathan Ford not practicing is an issue. He's not great but he's a big body who can eat up some snaps. Jordon Riley returned to practice this week for the first time since last December, so he's likely not ready.

Jordan Riley coming back is significant for a couple of reasons. As I recall, he wasn't half bad the little bit he played last season, and he could maybe make up for not having Ford. The other thing, he had an Achilles injury, I think a full tear, and here he is back in apparently well under a year - a good sign for the Cooper situation, especially if he doesn't seem like damaged goods.

I don't think Riley will be back for quite some time. Just because he's practicing doesn't mean he's anywhere near healthy enough or in shape enough to play in a game. IF the Packers are in the playoff hunt come December, maybe then.

As for the game: as fans, we tend to overreact. I am surely guilty of that. "Fan," after all, is short for "fantatic," so we tend to be emotionally responsive about our team. So after the first three games, we - me, especially - were really down about this team. Then they signed some former guards who were sitting around at home in September, and amazingly, that was an improvement (along with Glover), and when they spanked a Bears' team that was playing a second-string QB and had a "meh" defense, we all got overly excited.

I think we're all a little overconfident right now. The offensive line, while better, is still below average, Cooper's gone for the year, Parsons isn't really close to being back (remember all that talk of maybe the Dallas game?), Jacobs is in limbo for the foreseeable future, and while the Packers "cleaned up" their play against Chicago, they've still got a history - going back a ways - of being undisciplined and mistake prone.

Having said all that, I hope they play great and I continue to be wrong in my assessments.

Only 3 interior DL fully practiced on Thursday. Ford did not practice. Campbell was limited. Might see LVN lining up a lot on passing downs to give guys a break.

Per MLF: Jonathan Ford will not practice today and is likely out. Campbell progressing well.
