The Tennessee Titans are coming off their first win of the season, but the team had a serious situation to handle around the game.

The Titans released veteran defensive tackle Jordan Elliott on Tuesday unexpectedly after what the team described as "an incident" at its practice facility. Elliott signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the Titans in the offseason, following head coach Robert Saleh to Tennessee from the San Francisco 49ers.

Further reporting on the matter revealed that the incident involving Elliott escalated to the point where the defensive tackle went to get a gun from his car during the workday. While the incident ultimately de-escalated, the Titans decided that it was enough to move on from Elliott in the middle of the season.

Well, many Packer fans say they want a meaner, more aggressive type of player. Is this the guy?!? I mean, it's not like he punched a woman or anything.

Tennessee Titans coach Robert Saleh passionately defended Jordan Elliott's character and said that last week's gun-related incident involving the defensive lineman was "a call for help more than a criminal act."

Saleh confirmed that Elliott attempted to retrieve a gun from his car last Thursday following an altercation with a teammate at practice. The first-year Titans head coach vouched for Elliott, calling him a "good man."

"[Elliott] had a terrible lapse in judgment that I recognize as a call for help more than a criminal act," Saleh said Wednesday. "It's unfortunate the way it went down. As far as Jordan's concerned and the locker room and all that, I think people see it differently here than the knee-jerk reaction of the world."

Consider for a moment that the Patriots and Bears both stink out loud. Now how do you feel about Gute?
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

                These are not serious teams.

And how has Vrable never played at Soldier Field?

He ruined our OL and then took three weeks to figure out they sucked when most competent football fans could see that before game one. That is my first thought even before going into other details
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

They still might be the better team even with that flaw. Though both the Bears and Patriots looked better after a poor start. Drake Maye still looked a bit lost against a porous D. I'm not convinced there.

The Packers have absolutely not developed any guards to replace the one's they aged out or declined to sign.

He shouldn't have trusted Banks to stay healthy (was he injured in the offseason? Did he get a surgery to fix his knee from last year? Or was the tendonitis just sui generis?).

I don't know what I would have advised at RT. ZBB was recovering and was progressing though it seems slower than ZBB wanted. I have no idea how prevalent a patella tear is after a healed partial tear.

When both went down they were too young, too fast. I think Burton will be OK but he's a rookie and Belton would have been less a tire fire at Guard. But Monk wasn't it. Donovan Jennings wasn't it.

They left themselves high and dry. There isn't any question about it. At cutdown they should have retained a vet or two rather than Jennings, Monk (who they must love at Center) and Williams (who they must love at tackle). I'm surprised Jennings is on the team and Monk's appeal is lost on me. I did not see much of him against the Vikes last year.

The Bears are 5-2. Caleb is the real deal. And the fact that some teams stink doesn't excuse Gutes flaws. I'd rather have a different GM.

Mostly agree with your assessments. Monk was a pure center prospect and I think messing around by cross training him was a waste. Not sure about him as a center as we have seen limited snaps from him. The Banks mistake was signing him to that deal first and then locking themselves into him second. They had to count on ZBB healing, not blaming them for that. Can't spend much capital planning on your franchise OT to not be available. That just sucks. I think Belton could develop if he has the heart. Not sure he does. Burton I believe will be the center or guard for years as the game slows down for him. Morgan is showing more, but not enough yet. We have stemmed the bleeding with 2 vets, but not sure about the longer term. We need to get lucky with a ZBB recovery, Morgan continuing to advance and Burton becoming a player. I've said it before, when you need one thing to break right you got a chance. When you are hoping for 4 different things to work its a problem.

That is the great failure I think with the Guards. They have at least a possibly competent youth in Belton to backup at tackle. They didn't have anyone competent at Guard behind the presumptive starters in the offseason (Banks and Belton) except Glover who they thought was their sixth best guard (? Banks, Belton, Monk, Burton, Jennings).

I'm just kinda stunned they didn't keep Kinnard who could play both T & G. Even at replacement level, at least he knows who to block. Maybe this suggests they didn't think he could do it but he got snaps there in camp I believe.
