Sorry. Not buying it. They wanted to throw that flag because MiLF threw a fit they didn't flag Goff. They are starting to make it personal. When they flagged Wyatt they even admit they never blew the whistle. The ref got kicked and got pissed so he threw the flag and wouldn't back down. In the explanation they said "we're not sure if a whistle was blown, but we ruled the play dead" Great. Then blow a whistle. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

To everyone saying a missed kick, a blocked kick and the drop by Jacobs were the difference.
Recall the lions gave us 3 points (or 7) at the end of the first half and likely score a TD rather than running out the clock at the end of the game.
So - yes, those things matter. But the non PI on golden to the Cisse PI (INT), the roughing (3x), the grounding vs non grounding, taunting (last week) vs not taunting, etc.
The nfl is broke.
Go brewers! The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.

It's an especially bad look when you go to commercial and it's for a gambling site.
The refs have become a serious problem this year, particularly in high-leverage situations like 3rd downs and inside the red zone. I get the NFL wants scoring and to protect players but they've gone too far. Just awful stuff, and that goes beyond GB games. Not only are some calls ticky-tack, but they are vastly inconsistent and subjective.
Baseball added a lot of technology in the game to get calls right. If MLB is using it to help judge 100mph pitches, the NFL could do something for speed of players. It's boggling to me that NFL owners are so cheap that they want to have part-timers referee games on their weekends like it's a grade school soccer game. They are too busy swimming in their profits like Scrooge McDuck to care about the product or the sport itself. They are reaching a tipping point where people will stop watching because it's too frustrating or feels fixed. Conspiracy theories are easy to start and spread like wildfire, when you have shitty refs and include gambling you have a image problem.

I'm tired....
I'm tired of the drops. I'm tired of the missed kicks. I'm tired of the shitty, blatantly bad, one-sided officiating. I'm tired of not being able to get one fuckin yard running the ball. I'm tired of O-lineman not blocking...ANYONE. I'm tired of all the significant injuries to the players.
I'm just tired and it's only week 7.

I will have to watch it again. I'd buy it if true.Originally posted by Patler View PostApparently, the difference between Goff's non-grounding call and Love's grounding call is that Love's throw didn't reach the line of scrimmage. In that situation, the intended receiver has to be much closer to the throw.
I can accept that (though I have not yet seen Goff's throw).Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

This is bullshit. The runner didn't think the play was dead. So the refs position is ludicrous.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostWyatt gets flagged for tackling a runner that is still trying to run when no whistle was blown (that anyone heard). Officials told MiLF that "the play was obviously dead".Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Those are the two I am interested in as well as the Brooks or Wyatt roughing where he hit the QB just as the throw was launched and took him to the ground and did not land on him. I still don't know why that was called.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostBranch spears Kraft in the face as he's basically down and blasts his helmet off. In college he's gone for targeting, no question. Here, no flag. Will be interested if he gets a fine for that one.
Edit 1: Golden flexes at crowd. 15 yards and 11k fine. St. Brown dances and points at packers after offsides penalty for about 30 seconds straight. Not taunting.
The Branch hit was obvious. Kraft's helmet flew off!Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

What IS going on with the reffing? I don't recall it being quite so egregious in the past. Are other teams getting this kind of unfair and unbalanced treatment?
It seems to be verging on the ridiculous, the random."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

It feels almost like retribution for not cutting Jacobs.
The penalties on 3rd/4th are historically bad (like 2x). The 0 roughing calls on Love vs the 8 against us - statistically improbable.
This is the nfl when there’s legal gambling. When it was illegal - it still happened - just not as blatant.
All very fixable.
1. Get rid of Thur games.
2. Get rid of the 17th game in favor of a 2nd bye week
3. Full time referees with instant overturns on any call from the booth.
4. Allow coaches and media to ask questions of the officials in a public mannerThe measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.
