  • More Banjo: Packers versus Panthers

So Acme Packing has a contributor who looks at O Line film, RCon, and here is what he had for the game versus the Panthers.

    His Twitter is here: https://x.com/rcon14

Article under consideration is here: https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/g...cant-run-block

For the running game he had:

In watching all of the Packers’ 25 running back carries, I credited Banks with seven errors or lost blocks that lead to the play not working as intended (either leading to the tackle or disrupting the intended play design). That’s a rate of 28%. His fellow guard Laken Tomlinson, playing on the right side now after Banks’ return, was credited with four errors. Emergency third-string center John Williams was credited with three, including a really bad whiff near the goal line.

The tackles were better, with Belton credited for two, and Morgan’s only error involving missing the linebacker on the Jacobs toss to the left.
    Errors in run game:
    Banks 7
    Tomlinson 4
    John Williams 3
    Anthony Belton 2
    Morgan 1

If accurate, this might be a good sign. Was Banks first game back after a week of mostly normal practice. If he's healthy this could pick up.

One note: I believe I saw two instances of Morgan's guy getting back into a run play after an initial block. He could sustain longer.

He also takes Jacobs and Lloyd to task for poor results (Jacobs TD notwithstanding). Lloyd was literally abandoning good run lanes because he saw a safety coming down to fill. Yikes. Thinks Jacobs is out of shape.

    Better news?

In a game facing each other's teams, Morgan out pass blocked Walker by a good margin.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Took my nephew to his first game. Got to see the Brewers - we went under their suite and Mitchell, Ortiz and DL Hall came down and hung with fans. Watched Sal slam one of many beers (shared on socials) from below. Pretty fun.

too many mistakes as usual in the game

Which game did you get to? And was the beer after the win or during the parade?

I reckon, I had better odds of mating with Jenifer Lawrence than the Brewers had of winning the World Series.

Congrats, Tex, on witnessing your 3 favorite pro teams, the Packers, Bucks and Brewers win the whole shebang in your lifetime.

I couldn't tease out how much overlap between these errors. A max of 7 plays versus 17 is a big swing. Same X account shows how bad Marshmallow Lawd is hitting the proper gap
ffs bro this is where you are supposed to go you are looking directly at it!!!

Yeah Lloyd is very hesitant to just plant and go north south if he sees anything. That safety that poked his head in the gap sent him wide when he should not have gone wide.

RCon14 wrote in the Acme Packer article that of 25 RB carries, 6 were clean of errors and the rest were either missed blocks or RB errors.

Brewers worst odds of winning a WS were +1200 back in the 90's

Your odds with JL are too large to write. Can I use exponential form on here?

Well I went to G2 of the NLDS and WS.

But I was talking about the Panther game where the Brewers made an appearance. Our seats are in the club level so we found where the brewers were (just above our level). I was right below Sal from this video.

and yeah - we did the parade too. Crazy week

Am I the only one in here to have witnessed both the Milwaukee Brewers and the Milwaukee Braves win the World Series?

What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

That sounds like a lot of fun. We sold Game 1 and went to Game 2. Was a huge deal, first time at a World Series for both of us (went with my son). We would have had Games 3 and 4 but I'm glad they closed it out early. The refund for unused tickets will be good too.

Not I. Made it, barely, in time for the first Super Bowl.

Certainly something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime. It's now 5 days later and sometimes I still think it was just a dream!

I thought the whole idea was to create a gap for the RB to get through so he could shake ‘n bake at the 2nd level. But as soon as he saw a safety seven yards away, he cheesed out and tried to go wide. It was an ugly look.

I had high hopes for Lloyd and thought maybe after a couple of games he'd sort it out, but his vision as a RB is bad.
rcon's article at acmepacking is pretty good and if you watch any of Mike Wahle's videos on youtube they are pretty frustrating - for him and the viewer - because you can see there are fundamental things not happening. It's flat out poor execution most of the time, not necessarily scheme. The problem is less the RBs than the OL, although Jacobs is clearly better than Johnson or Lloyd.

re: Banks, he played like he was rusty. I'm hoping that more practice and playing time resolves that, but if not IDK what they will do. I don't trust Stenokus to actually start the "best 5" at the proper positions.

on that note, I was out on Butkus 2 seasons ago, I was thinking Steno was worth keeping for the OL coaching. Now I think they both need to go. The way Steno talks to the media plus the fact that he got shitty NLFPA survey score and he's gone thru 2 full interview cycles and not gotten a sniff of interest as a serious HC candidate tells me all I need to know about him. The final nail is seeing what bringing in a DC like Hafley or Gannon has done for the player development there vs. on offense. Guys like Bullard and even the rookies are showing growth while the offense looks like JV dogshit.
