Why do it to yourself in the first place, JH? Go for your run, sip a few beers, sure - but why do damage to yourself?

Let's do some logic.
There should be in the top ten:
3 OT's (Smith, Monroe, Smith)
2 QB's (Stafford, Sanchez)
2 LB's (Curry, Orakpo) Orakpo is smaller than Kampmann
1 NT Raji
1 CB Jenkins
1 WR Crabtree
I think the Packers can skip the QB's, LB's, and WR.
That gives the Packers the final pickings of the other 5, which are likely the last OT (Smith), Raji, or Jenkins, with one of them gone and Tyson Jackson not too much of a reach.
It all depends on the grades the Packer scouts have given to them.
Ted will take the highest graded one.
OR
If another team is willing to trade up, say if Sanchez is still on the board.
I think Ted can trade down with Denver to #12 for a 3rd round pick and get
one of
Tyson Jackson DE
Malcolm Jenkins CB
Andre Smith OT
Depending on what the 49'ers (D-line) and the Bills (O-line) do.
Ted will be most inclined to trade down if Raji is gone and Sanchez is on the board.
In my sometimes incorrect opinion, Jackson or Jenkins will be the pick.

That's what I'm thinking also, but you never know. Those aren't sexy picks, but I like both of them. Two of the safest picks in the draft. Should be a great bet to be solid starters.Originally posted by CaliforniaCheezIn my sometimes incorrect opinion, Jackson or Jenkins will be the pick."There's a lot of interest in the draft. I like Jenkins too. Waldo talked me out of it because corners shouldn't be picked so high. He made a case. I bought it for now.
It took me a while to warm up to Jackson, but I compared his numbers to Seymore. Neither guy is elite athletically and Seymore has the slight edge, but Jackson is right there at very damn good (reminds me of Jennings, Nelson, Hawk). Not elite, but really good across the board. He's a prototypical player for our defense. He's a good guy and a hard worker. He's a rare big body. I've warmed up to him over Jenkins and I didn't think I would. DE's mgiht not be flashy, but just because they are not flashy doesn't mean they aren't a huge part of stopping the run and providing pressure on the QB. I'm becoming a big believer in the trenches (especially after last year when losing Jenkings, KGB and Williams crushed our defense)Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

I know a coach that happens to be a Steelers fan that has been very convinced for well over a year that Jackson is the best 5 tech prospect to become draft eligible since Seymore by a large margin and is a perennial all pro if drafted by a 3-4 team.
He's quite adamant about it.

Honestly, since I've added him to my list of players to be excited about, this draft got a whole lot more optimistic for me.
I'm scared shitless of Andre Smith and I don't want it to come down to how teams feel about Sanchez to determine whether we get value (by way of trade or by way of a good player slipping).
Because I've warmed up to Jackson, it makes me feel like we're almost certain to at least have the option to take an elite defender (be it Raji, Jackson or Curry in that order for me)
NE trying to move up is another ray of hope that this is a good place to be. They look for the same type of defenders as us and they need an OT. They also want our pick. Hmmm. . . .<doing the Mr. Burns greedy finger shuffle>Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

I'm hoping for Tyson Jackson in Rd 1, and Ron Brace in Rd. 2!!... that would go a long way to solidifying our dline... then see if TT can find a sleeper OT with one of the 3rds...
if Jackson isn't there at #9 then maybe a trade down and pick up Ayers in Rd 1 and still hope for Brace in Rd 2...Now what y'all know about dem Texas boys
Comin' down in candied toys, smokin' weed and talkin' noise!!!

OK, Im hammered now. There was a massive party at this warehouse complex I stay at. I just followed all the cars and stumbled home. I feel like I have a couple more hours in me.. so that makes a 5-6am bedtime and Ill be up a 2-3 hours before the draft stats. Just in time to start putting down some out-of-season-budget Sweetwater Blue that I got 48 (Beers) for $5 from a truck driver in the hood...
If we take Raji or Jackson Ill be super excited and confident with the picks. Anything else, Ill support, but I'm definitely not so sure about.
The "other pick" is Moreno... if we trade down, the devil on my shoulder would love us to take Moreno. I wouldnt feel so secure about it but the intrigue would be at an all-time high. The kid is LT v2.0 but he definitely doesnt fill a top need...

If you really think Moreno is going to be the next LaDanian Tomlinson, why trade down for him? Why not just draft him at #9 rather than risk some other GM, feeling the same way about him as you do, taking him in front of the slot you've traded back to? Certainly the next LT is worth a #9.Originally posted by missionOK, Im hammered now. There was a massive party at this warehouse complex I stay at. I just followed all the cars and stumbled home. I just don't think he's going to be that guy, and wouldn't draft him in the top 15. Especially considering how deep OT is at the top of the draft. But that's just me.Chuck Norris doesn't cut his grass, he just stares at it and dares it to grow
