  • How did you become a Packer fan?

This is a cool article, which made me think how everyone here became a Packer fan.

When I read that one of the article possibilities for the NFL correspondent job was to write about what turned me into a fan of my team, I had to chuckle more than just a little. I am a fan of the Green Bay Packers...

I am 20 years old, and I recall the first game I watched was the 1995 NFC Title game. I was in Kindergarden. I remember running to the basement because the game had already started and seeing the score was 3-0. I yelled "They're gonna win! They're gonna win" My mother, cautiously reminded me it was still early in the game.

Thats the first game I remember watching, but I don't know how I decided to turn it on, what sparked the interest. My parents never had much interest in pro sports until I did.

Good article--although I couldn't give you one memory from Burnell Dent. Eddie Lee Ivery and Jeff Query? Yes. Burnell Dent? No.

October 9th 1988 I watched the Packers whip up on the NE Patriots with my dad and thought it was interesting. I've watched pretty much every game since. Sometimes I don't know why.

I moved to Miltown from houston..so i was an oiler fan originally.

I wasn't really a packer fan until my republican neighbors waterboarded me.

I've been a Packer fan since I was 5 years old. My older sister would want to watch carebears and I would want to watch the Packers.

I grew up in Illinois, but we were always Packer fans, in part because my dad thought so much of Lombardi. My dad grew up a Chicago Cardinals fan, so he never liked the Bears to begin with. My nephews are Packer fans, so the tradition should continue.

The 1983 MNF classic against the Redskins. First time my parents allowed me to stay up to watch the whole game.

Not during the game, I presume?

Scholastic Book Club. I ordered some books in 1967 about football....of course dominated by Packer talk. Hooked ever since...I'll never forget the story about the College All stars beating the 62 or 63 Packers.

Freak, did you have the Bart Starr book by John Devaney? Came out in 1967. I think I had that book memorized at one point. Found it a couple of years ago on Ebay.
