  • When Did Harrell Hurt His Back?

I just don't know. In reading this article (http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/46423567.html) in the JSO this morning, I see Todd Rosiak, the writer, make the following observation: ". . . but after two consecutive years of major back problems and minimal production . . ."

Okay. Harrell is entering his third year, and according to Rostiak - as far as I can tell - has had back troubles both years he has been in Green Bay. Later in the article, however, Rostiak writes that Harrell "has battled ankle and hip injuries in addition to his back issue, which required multiple surgeries after his rookie year."

So did Harrell hurt his back before his rookie year, during his rookie year, or in the weight room after his rookie year?

Al;so, in the same article, Harrell admits that "I haven't really did anything since I've been here."

Me, I have did a lot of things since I started posting.

I know that, Nutz, but when? It's been going on for years.

I thought the only issue his rookie year was the arm injury. Although there have been reports that he had back problems going back to high school, the first I knew of a back problem with the Packers was last year when he hurt it lifting weights.

It was recovery from the arm issue the first year (2007). Then he hurt his back last offseason (2008).

If he has had hip or ankle work done, it would seem to be minor compared to the other two problems, since they were mentioned as the reasons he couldn't practice or play. But I remember neither. So the answer might be Favre.

The ankle was in college IIR.

                  Since coming to GB

2007 - Arm recovery held him out of doing much of camp and led to a slow start (in addition to failing his run test for the first week, but he was limited when he could practice). Fully cleared 2 weeks before the end of camp. Didn't play much early on, started getting in games then sprained his ankle (high type) mid-late October. Returned and played a lot in Dec and Jan, having some pretty good games.

2008 - Disc injury the first week of the S&C program in mid-march. Had surgery for it shortly after it happened. Missed all OTA's. Placed on PUP list and missed all of camp. Had 2nd surgery during the last week of camp. Came off the PUP list after the bye, playing sporadically from weeks 9-14. His back was still a problem, causing his hips to hurt, and he missed the final 3 games of the season.

2009 - No injury yet (fingers crossed)

It would be a big bonus if this dude stayed healthy. Physically, he's the prototypical 3-4 DE.

absolutely agree; the guy has the talent if he can stay dedicated and healthy

While I'm not a fan yet, I can't completely dog on him or call him a Fraud because I do think he has the talent to put it together
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Agreed Brett. That pic speaks volumes, but sometimes it takes some action. JH has proved NOTHING so far. Snake would love to be wrong, but JH is a bust so far. Let's prove many wrong and JH just rip it up this preseason...that shit would just go nuts in getting us wins.
Snake's Twitter comments would be LEGENDARY.........if I was ugly or gave a shit about Twitter.

Given Waldo's injury history on Harrell, and given Waldo's reliability, then the writer of the article is flat out wrong to write that back problems have dogged Harrell during his two seasons in Green Bay . . .

                              Agreed.

Thanks for doing the dirty work, Waldo. Your chronology is the way I remembered the situation.

JH's career has been a series of train wrecks, but the guy can still put it together and be a factor for us.
