  • A team with a bad general manager

What the hell is going on in Denver?

Seriously, are they trying to destroy that team? If I was Ted Thompson, I would be calling them up dangling a 2010 2nd round pick for the rights to Knowshon .

Yeah, I can almost see TT making another draft pick trade! And the Cubs winning the Series. And peace in the Middle East.

Well, if he isn't traded to GB, I hope he stays out of the NFC North!

Maybe we could trade and get Kenny Peterson back. Dude won the state championship in high school, the national championship in college, and thus is destined to win a super bowl and complete the trifecta.

I thought this was another thread about Matt Millen until I remembered he actually got fired.

I've heard ALOT of speculation on Sirius radio that he's going to Baltimore and it's going to be announced soon.

I wonder if Chicago is thinking about getting in the game. How was the Marshall/Cutler relationship?

And if Favre goes to Minny, could he lobby for the Wilfs to trade for Marshall?

They (Vikings or Bears) can have him, and Pacman Jones, and Michael Vick, and every other distraction in the NFL for all I care.

I don't know how likely a reunion between the two in Chicago is. Didn't Cutler publicly call Marshall out through the media for being a dumbass last offseason?

I honestly think we should inquire. We won't of course, but this is the 2nd most talented receiver in the game.

Our WR corps does not need upgrading, and once Jennings gets his extension we won't have any money available to upgrade our WR's anyway. Figure Driver's gonna be here at least 2 more years (maybe longer, could be as many as 5) @ approx. 7 million per. Jennings will be very close to that salary as well. Marshall's gonna want a bigger paycheck too, and we won't be able to give it to him.

Besides, I really disagree that Marshall is the second most talented WR in the game. He might only be the second most talented WR on our roster should we sign him. Not to mention that Driver would be incredibly put off by it, likely seeing the move as the next step twoard his own release. It could get ugly. No need.

Donald Driver can go fuck himself. I appreciate his years of service, but he's kind of used up now.

I would rather we keep what we got than trade for a selfish toad like Marshall.

The thing that confuses me about Denver here is that Marshall has no leverage, almost none whatsoever. In addition to fines incurred by not reporting to Broncos camp, if he doesn't report 30 days before the beginning of the season he forfeits a year of service which would prevent him from becoming an unrestricted free agent next year. Add that to the fact that if there's no CBA in place before the 2010 season, he won't be an unrestricted free agent anyway.

Plus, unlike Cutler, Marshall is a WR not a QB and malcontent WRs that want new contracts or want to be traded are endemic, and generally fail to get what they want.

                          I'm confused....

What are you saying here? Fuck Marshall if he's a Packer, fuck Driver if Marshall isn't a Packer?

I'd rather keep what we have than trade for Marshall as well, but I firmly believe that Driver will be part of what we have for at least 2 or 3 more seasons. I'd rather he didn't go fuck himself. That would be bad.

The whole issue is moot unless Marshall is brought in anyway.

TT disagrees with you on many of your points because he went after Moss with basically the same WRs already in place (minus Jordy, but with a slightly younger Driver). So he doesn't see a problem with trying to upgrade our WR corps and he didn't seem to worry about Driver's feelings.

Ah, but perhaps he did. According to Randy Moss - I just looked this up the other day - Green Bay called to inquire about restructuring his contract if they acquired him, and what turned Moss off was that the team talked about "the wrong things," one of those being that the team wanted Moss to know that DD was and would continue to be the #1 receiver on the team...
