similar story, i was in san antonio and i was around 3rd grade and we saw Vlade Divac in the elevator haha. They were in town to play the Spurs. I had no idea who he was at the time (my dad told me later), but being that young, he was 28 feet tall.
I made fun of Tim Thomas's dinner in our elevator once. Something about eating lots of cheeseburgers making people play better defense. I don't think he liked me.

I served Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford lunch once, back when I was in college.

        Met Bob Feller once, too.

And Denny McLain. But he was a butt plug.

I saw Richard Simmons in the Philly airport once. Actually I heard him for a couple of minutes talking behind a closed security door before he finally emerged. You wouldn't believe how far his voice carries. Or maybe you would.

I was in an elevator at the Luxor once. Fabio was standing there and he said to me 'Hold the elevator'. I reached down and pushed the 'close door' button. I think he thought I was hitting the 'keep door open' button cause his head snapped around as the doors shut with a 'what the hell! I'm Fabio!' look on his face. Priceless. Maybe - if he said please . . .

Ty has met and seen some celebs/athletes, but none made a stronger impression than seeing John Brockington in the parking lot of county stadium.

He was resplendent in a full length fur. Pimptastic.

Almost made up for lolling in the parking lot for what seemed like hours cause Ty's dad forgot where he parked and his strategy was to wait till most of the cars had left so we could find ours.

Of a completely different nature, Ty has seen Jenna Jameson several times at Sapporo in Scottsdale..along with a number of other young and gifted porn stars.

Biggest celeb I've met is LeRoy Butler, my favorite safety of all time. He and his group used to stay at our hotel when he had his charity golf outing here in Milwaukee. I've met Butler, Steve Atwater, Don Majikowski, Dave Robinson, and others. I've heard that Brett Favre was here too, though neither I nor any of the former desk staff had an opportunity to meet him. He didn't mingle with the rest of the group, choosing to stay completely out of sight while he was here. The guys I did have a chance to talk to were all great guys.

Others I've met here at the hotel include Cher, Cyndi Lauper, Tom Petty, Bruce Bruce, and Common, most of them during Summerfest.

I was checking in at the airport on a business trip recently, and I turned around to see the largest mass of a man I'd ever witnessed before right behind me. It was Dalip Singh, known in wrestling circles as The Great Khali, who also played in the remake of the Longest Yard. He goes a mere 7'3" and 420, not Andre the Giant size, but with huge guns and a chin that would crush normal men.

When I turned around and looked straight at his chest, and then looked up to see him peering down at me, it's not something I'll forget real quickly.
This is what it felt like looking up at him.

                        Fun thread.

Some interesting trivia on this fella:

Ahmad Bradshaw (born March 19, 1986 in Bluefield, Virginia) is a running back for the New York Giants.

He was drafted in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the New York Giants, out of Marshall University. He is the Fire in the running back corps nicknamed "Earth, Wind and Fire" along with Brandon Jacobs (Earth) and Derrick Ward (Wind).

Ohh I once met the great Montreal Canadian Guy LaFleur. That was a thrill. To top it of he was sitting with Red Storey and their somewhat legends here in Canada.

I almost forgot that I was walking up one of the concourses at O'Hare last year and I passed Mike McCarthy, who was walking slowly talking on his cell phone. His shoulder bag had a Packer G on it, but other than that he was dressed in his "civies." I of course recognized him clearly, but other than me checking him out as I neared and passed him to verify it was who I was thinking it was, no one else seemed to recognize him at all.

Actually, now that I think about it, I've seen quite a few sports celebrities in airports (Bo Jackson, Nancy Kerrigan, I've flown with Chad Greenway and Abdul Hodge when they were returning from the Senior Bowl), but I don't approach them. If McCarthy had not been on his cell I'd have been tempted to give him some props, but I tend not to idolize any of them, so it's not a thrill to talk with what amounts to a total stranger - although I gotta admit Jenna Jameson would get my attention. She's an absolute artist.

I was chosen to referee a charity event at the NBA All-Star game when it was in Minneapolis. I met Magic Johnson, Clyde Drexler, and Charles Barkley. I played Calvin Murphy in a 3 point shooting contest between games (from the NBA line). I lost but I took him to OT.

I met the Bulls (Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc, Jackson) in Seattle during the 1996 NBA Championship.

I met Kirby Puckett at a charity event in 1988.

I inadvertently walked through the set of a Kevin Garnett commercial in downtown Minneapolis. He wasn't happy. Just walking in City Center. Looked up and there was KG and the cameras.

I sat next to John Madden at Manny's Steakhouse.

I watched the Gorbachevs motorcade while in downtown Minneapolis in the late 80s.

I've come across many Packers while in Green Bay. Ron Wolf was the most fun to talk to.

Those are my brushes with fame. I forgot, I ran across Minnesota legend, Sid Hartman, in downtown Minneapolis. Dude is much taller than I thought he'd be. And I once shot pool with Roy Marble and Les Jepsen.

Doesn't that suspiciously, or make you a celebrity stalker? Now there's some major name dropping.
