12-4, this team has talent at every single position. Of course, players at key positions are injury prone. If they stay healthy, then they will be a playoff team. I still think they should look to add another DE to the fray and ditch one of the corners or FBs.

Sports Reporters was very interesting today....
Bob Ryan stated that Lord Favre will have a few special moments this year (e.g., 6 td game v. Cards last yr) but that the season will end in tears for Minny as Favre throws the big pick - lol. Says that at this point its a "given" that aaron is great
Mike Lupica states that pack wr's are best in the biz and with capers in there he can see a nyg v pack nfccg. He noted that rarely does a player replace a legend like favre and does SO great (I gave example of Montana/Young in another thread and cant think of any more.... . Says minny wont win b/c brett will do what he's been doing for a few years; lose the game b/c he will "throw the ball up in the air..." Thus pack will win nfcn, which is the new nfc east what with all the stud qb's - making it the most compelling group in the sport!
William Rhoden states that Minny is the class of the entire nfc b/c they are "loaded." But he feels that Tavaris will take over for favre after favre gives them 6 good games. Says he's not drinking the favre kool-aid at all and that chilly was "desperate" for bringing him in
LMBO "end in tears..."

30 years in the wilderness (I lay no claim to the fan suffering) and it takes Harlan, Wolf, Holmgren, Favre and Reggie to get people to pay attention to the Packers.Originally posted by MOBB DEEPSports Reporters was very interesting today....

Now people can't shut up about the 6-10 team with Dom Capers. I hate winning the offseason. God forbid what the chattering class says if T2 signs another name FA.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

He's not even in the top 3, thanks to Kevin Williams and Jared Allen. Top 5? Maybe. But Pat Williams and Steve Hutchinson are both great players that are a really important part of that team, as are E.J. Henderson and Antoine Winfield. Favre makes it somewhere in the "top 10 best Vikings" though.Originally posted by PuggerLOL! Favre isn't even the best player on his TEAM (Adrian Peterson is). Good grief.

I second that PB; something feels a lil amiss with all the hype BEGINNING to surround the pack after such a paltry showing last yr. I guess thats what happens when u lose alot of close games, shore up your biggest weak spot (D w/stud capers), and look SO crisp in the preseason.Originally posted by pbmaxNow people can't shut up about the 6-10 team with Dom Capers. I forget who said it but it was said that after last year's nonsense the pack has proverbial chip on shoulder and that its common for this to work in reverse for teams like minny, et. al who often rest on their accomplishments/hype after fair showing the previous year; this is mostly evident with inconsistent programs like bears and raiders. Not so evident with great orgs like Pats and Steelers...makes senseThey said God has a Tim Tebow complex!

At this point, I think it's impossible to say how good Favre is. The general consensus seems to be that he's pretty beat up, rusty, and immobile. But who knows? A lot of that is conjecture based on the reports of his surgeries and a few plays with a new team after being in camp for a few days. I would guess - unless Favre is injured right now, or gets injured - there will be games where he'll play outstanding and others where he'll look like an old QB. As long as he's controlled and doesn't heave a bunch of moon balls, Minnesota will be tough to beat. Damn.Originally posted by Lurker64He's not even in the top 3, thanks to Kevin Williams and Jared Allen. Top 5? Maybe. That's what makes it all the more ridiculous that he stated Favre was the best player on the Vikes.Originally posted by PartialTo be fair, AP is the best player on basically every team in the league.Originally posted by PuggerLOL! But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

15-1
Its the only winning record that nobody said. I'll also add that the game they lose will be on Thanksgiving. After that embarrassment they'll steam roll the rest of their schedule and the next non-blowout will be the NFC championship. By week 10 Vikings fans will be watching Colt McCoy highlights. AP will come back to Earth before being sidelined and Chester Taylor will propel me to a fantasy championship. I'll put my winnings on a 55 bet superbowl futures parlay predicting every minutiae of the game (which is between the Pats and Packers btw). After I win my last bet because Al Harris adds Tom Brady's spine to his spine pile, I purchase the Minnesota Vikings, move them to LA and rename them the "LA Glitter Queens." I also have constructed a 200 foot animatronic billboard of Aaron Rodgers giving a "suck-it" which will be visible for those Eastbound on I-94 somewhere around Menomonie, WI.70% of the Earth is covered by water. The rest is covered by Al Harris.

To me, this is one of the most fascinating questions of the NFL year. Can Favre stay under control and be the game manager that he says he will be? He certainly appears, in the interviews I've seen and read, to be rather subdued - he's lost that jaunty joy it seems to me. So if he stays all quiet and subdued, does that mean he'll morph into Joe Game Manager? Will he stay that way all season? Will he get frustrated at some point with the game plans and chomp at the bit? Will he try to go back and forth between these two modes as the game conditions deem necessary? If so, can he do that?Originally posted by mraynrandAt this point, I think it's impossible to say how good Favre is. The general consensus seems to be that he's pretty beat up, rusty, and immobile.
