  • Charles Woodson

This guy deserves a thread. Hell...he IS the defense. He is all over the field and all around the ball when it's in play. Woodson is playing the best ball of his career. When the season starts...if Woodson stays healthy...he should be in the running for MVP.

Send him to Madison and clone him now. But have UW sign him before Michigan.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I don't remember who had it in their sig a while back -

But your topic brings it to mind:

he is the best DB to play in GB since the 60's. I think he's better than Leroy Butler.

What DB is better in the NFL right now? Really! Not only is a great cover CB in man or zone, but he plays the run and rushes the passer well. And he creates turnovers like Doyle creates taxes!

I'm sorry I love Woodson and agree with everything in this thread, but as for who's better, "Scrabble".

If memory serves me right, Snake was all over putting over Woodson for Defensive MVP halfway through 2008. While he didn't tail off, he really needed insane stats to win the D MVP at CB by the end of the season.

This new blitzing scheme from anyone-anytime is tailor-made for CWood. That guy is a gamer (reminds me of Rod Woodson in his prime) right now. His play once again tonite blitzing/stripping the ball/playing off his man (his instincts are just incredible...play to his strengths. Al will be ok, as both him and Wood are great shutdown CB's, but playing off man, will only help Wood make even MORE plays IMO. What a phenomenal football player....
Snake's Twitter comments would be LEGENDARY.........if I was ugly or gave a shit about Twitter.

Sorry, I guess I'm either getting old or just plain stupid. What or who is "scrabble."

                    Urbandictionary.com gave me the following:

                    Scrabble
                    1. A very fun game that uses made up words.
                    2. Any kind of sexual intercourse

I don't think either of those are right?

A player's nickname perhaps? Help a brotha out!

What impressed me about Woodson, or Woodsen as several posters used to call him, is that when he got held up at the line, he would still push his blocker and dive into the play, not to make the tackle but to force the RB coming off the corner to go a yard or two deeper to get the edge. The kind of thing our LBs seem unable or unwilling to do that slow a play down.

you have to wonder what his career would look like if it wasn't for all the injuries

                        probably a hall of famer

Woodson's playing great, especially in the new D.

I hope his "old" body will last 24 games
