  • Aaron Rodgers MVP?

Las Vegas currently has Aaron Rodgers at +2800 to win the NFL MVP award.

If he were to win it.......

    100......would get you 2800
    50........would get you 1400
    25........would get you 700
    10........would get you 280
    5..........would get you 140

Seems like a long shot (which it is) but......if the Packers were to have a big year Rodgers would obviously be a huge part of it. I'm not suggesting he is a MVP QB (yet) but there could actually be some value there. If (of course) we all lived in Las Vegas.

    The favorites.......

    T. Brady................+300
    P. Manning............+400
    A. Peterson............+700
    D. Brees................+800
    B. Roethlisberger....+1000
    D. McNabb.............+1000

    Others listed ahead of Rodgers......

Warner, Tomlinson, Fitzgerald, Rivers, Moss, Romo..........+1500

    M. Ryan, Favre...........+1800

    E. Manning, Owens.........+2000

    Palmer, Steven Jackson, Cutler..........+2500

Way to early to guess and too many factors. They would need to have a very good record for that to happen imo.

I wouldn't be surprised if he won it. The way he's played, as hard as he works, as strong as his arm is and as fit as his body is. . . I didn't expect him to play as well as he has this preseason, but at this point, there is nothing he could do that would shock me.

It'd be interesting to see if those odds have moved during the preseason. I would have scoffed at this 3 weeks ago. Now you ignore him at your own peril.

The signs are showing up, I agree. We'll see. They look very impressive and the young players on O, especially Rodgers, appear to have taken a huge step forward. They look special so far. We'll see.

If Rodgers is on a team this year that wins 11 games and puts up these numbers:

              4,400 yards
              66% comp percentage
              35 TD's
              13 INT's
              100+ QB rating

Will you admit you were wrong about him being maxed out at just better than average?

He doesn't look maxed out. His pocket presence looks much better and his skittish play in the pocket appears to be a thing of the past. We'll see how that translates to the regular season, but again, the signs are there.

You are putitng way too much stock in arbitrary numbers. We'll see. It ultimately comes down to record imo as the #1 factor.

Do you admit that he was not maxed out last year?

Will you stop being a wanker? You've managed to make me want to kick someone in the balls already in one day back for the first time in like a month in a half.

Haha. Just answer the question, Partial. Admitting when we were wrong is the right thing to do. You'll have gobs more respect as soon as you say it and move on .

I was wrong to. I never thought Rodgers would play as well as he did this preseason. It's been spectacular. Its not that hard to do.

He doesn't look maxed out, as I already said in two posts up. We'll see once the regular season starts. No reason to get fired up over nothing.

Yeah. And he's got a ways to go. I'm excited with what I've seen though. I think it's real.
