  • semi-pro football

I went to a semi-pro football game this afternoon, the Madison Mustangs against the Muskego Hitmen in the playoffs for the Ironman Football League.

Damn, was it ever entertaining! The linemen on both sides of the ball are kinda slow compared to big time football, but the skill guys at wide receivers and secondary are good athletes. They seem to be having a good time on the sidelines. They play in high school stadiums so you can see what is happening on the field. The Mustangs won, I think I might go to the Dells in a couple week and watch the IFL Super Bowl.

The Hitmen have Booker Stanley, a former Badger running back. He was obviously the best player on the field. He was too fast for the linebackers to get a clean shot at him, it took about three guys to trap him.

No, it's the same idea as minor league ball. You go out for the fun and it's a damn sight cheaper.
