I thought you guys said Sharper sucks and all his picks are meaningless?
I was talking to my dad about why we cut or traded him (whichever, we got rid of him is the point) when he has still been solid for the last 4 years. He played hurt the year we got rid of him and the Packers didn't want to pay him what he was worth. But your Vikings also got rid of him. I don't get why you get rid of a solid safety when you have no replacement.
I would have rather had him and Collins back there instead of screwing around with Rouse, Bigby, Martin, and Smith.
He wasn't a good fit for the defense Chilly and Tomlin put in but despite the fact this entire forum constantly ragged on the guy he was a big playmaker.
He played well for the Vikings and obviously is playing well for the Saints. He's near the end of his career so I'm cool with the Vikings replacing him.

That's true so it makes more sense for the Vikings to get rid of him. Made no sense when the Packers did it though.

I think the Pack was pretty flush against the cap. They wanted him to take a big paycut and the Vikings offered him the same amount he was going to make when the Packers let him go.

there were options. Sharper knew that. Ted didn't want to use the options, so he waived him.
Safeties and guards are easily replaceable (dime a dozen guys), you know.

It was a combination of his cap number and Sherman's cap management that ended his time in Green Bay.
