Beer that best suits your mood for tonight's game?
I vote for A LOT OF BEER! I am watchign with 8 Viking fans...if we don't win...ugh
Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.
Im drinking cheap because I will need a lot of it ... not sure what. Going to a small local sports bar so Im not involved in any riots at TJs (Packers bar) ... don't want to be at home because I might need some wind down time.
I'm preparing for the worst for some reason, but I think we just might pull this one out.
Go to Sportsman's to drink your Grain Belt. Tell 'em Mraynrand sent you. This is the shithole I used to go to in my college days. The Vikings fans were total assholes, but there was nothing I could do about it. Randy Wright was fainting in the goddam huddle for chrissakes. But at least you can get drunk for about $1.50.

Is that a large arched window or just a big fucking hole on the 2nd story?

Mission, I thought about hitting TJs too but it just gets too late with the hour drive home and such. And I'm not sure that I trust myself to not throw a Shih-tzu at the TV (which could results in divorce papers being served) if I'm watching alone. Not sure what I am going to do.
I wish I could watch it with the TMJ announcers so I don't have to listen to the Favre gushers on FavreSPN.
As for the beer of my choice tonight...local microbrewery beer. Sweetwater 420. I would opt for Spotted Cow but since its not available outside of Wisconsin...

A close second - Skullsplitter Orkney Scotch Ale.
Love Founders Dirty Bastard. I lived about a mile from the brewery. Every now and then some of our local beer bars would get a cask of it. Nothing better than dirty bastard or other small batch from a cask.
Contrarily, I am going with a couple bottles of High Life to support my Wisconsin team.

I've driven by this place several times but never gone in. Was it a decent shithole, or just a shithole? Nothing wrong with a good dive bar...
Mraynrand, you may remember Mannings just done the road. It's still there, and still a solid place for a pregame meal, I've gone there a half dozen or so times. Doesn't look like they've changed anything in there since the 50's 'cept the prices. I'll bet Mr. Crusty would be a fan of the place.
