  • Spitz lost for the season

I just heard on the radio that the Packers placed Center Jason Spitz on injured reserve. The wounded offensive line keeps taking hits.

Packers placed C Jason Spitz (back) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Spitz was expected to play a big role this year after he beat out incumbent center Scott Wells, who will now continue to start. Spitz hasn't practiced since Oct. 15. He's a free agent after this season.

-Packers signed WR Biren Ealy off their practice squad

How did he get hurt? I don't remember him coming out of the game (or was it that traumatic for me?)

          That's it for Spitz.

No way they will sign him in FA.

thats a shame, i liked him better at center then wells

wells is alraight but nothing special, we have much bigger problems on the o-line

i could see them bringing him back next year )spitz that is)

Why do you think this? Not saying it's wrong but I don't know if it will necessarily be the case.

Not sure that will be the case unless our homersim taught us to overvalue Spitz. Is he not as good at C and/or guard as we thought ?

Sutton really does look like the real deal.

If somebody makes him a great offer, I could see him leaving. But there is some value there for the Packers. What makes you think it's a done deal?

Much of Spitz's future will depend on what the docs say about his back; this could however be a case in which he has more value to the Packers than to other teams and so he could end up signing with them.

At this point any OL that can play probably has more value to the Packers

And some of those guys are still in college....

The draft will be interesting next year. Saw another thread on another site suggesting that if Barbre - who's been taking practice snaps at left tackle a little - can't get his pass blocking figured out he's the next Tony Moll - a swingman who is worth, well, what?

Left tackle early in the draft next year, anyone? Lang at right tackle?
