This week (assuming the Packer beat the Bears) you want the Chargers to beat the Cowboys making the Cowboys 8-5.

    Scenario 1
This week if the Giants beat the Eagles, and the Cowboys lose, The Giants, Cowboys and Eagles are tied.
The Giants are 8-5, #1 in the East with a better division record than the Eagles (they split the season) and the Giants have a sweep over the Cowboys.
The Cowboys have a head to head win over the Eagles.

If the Packers win they are the #1 Wild Card and a game lead over those NFC East teams. the Giants lead the East, the Cowboys are #2 Wild Card, and the Eagles are then the team on the outside.

    -Packers lose
The Eagles have a higher strength of Victory over the Packers if the Packers lose. And the Packers are out of playoff position. Giants lead their division and the Cowboys and Eagles are the Wild Cards.

    Scenario 2
If the Eagles beat the Giants and the Cowboys lose to the Chargers. The Eagles then move ahead of the Cowboys. A Packer win puts them a game ahead of the Cowboys for #1 Wild Card.

A Packer loss puts them at a tie with the Cowboys which is broken by the head to head win. The Packers would still be #1 Wild Card.
The Giants remain out of position.

    Scenario 3
If the Eagles beat the Giants and the Cowboys beat the Chargers. The Cowboys lead the East, the Eagles have the #1 Wild Card, and the Packers remain the #2 Wild Card. The Giants are 2 games back of the Packers if the Packers win and only 1 game back if the Packers lose.

    In summary this week:
#1 priority is Packers beating the Bears.
#2 priority is the Chargers beating the Cowboys.
#3 priority is Giants beating the Eagles.

You want the Saints to beat the Falcons and the Bengals to beat the vikings.

    After this week:
The Cowboys also visit the Saints, Redskins and host the Eagles.
The Eagles host the 49'ers and Broncos before visiting Dallas.
The Giants would visit Washington, host Carolina, and visit the vikings(you don't want to hope for a viking win at the end of the season.)

      Great Thread!

But i am not sure you got sceanrio 1 right.

The Cowboys have a head to head win over the Eagles. The Eagles have a higher strength of Victory over the Packers.
      First:
If the Packers win this week the will habe a 9-4 record better than any NFC East Team in Sceanrio 1.

      Second:
If the Packers lose, they also stand at 8-5, but will get the #5 seed, because of the sweep of the Cowboys.

      From NFL.com:
      Three or More Clubs
      1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
      2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
So with the Giants beeing the Divison Leader, Dallas would advance from step 1 and lose against the Packers in step 2.

        Oops.

I should not try to do too much after the game except more proofreading.

This is one of those, what would we want. I think round 1, we would stand a better chance of playing Arizona round 1 than playing at any of the NFC East Divisional winners. But, round 2, I'd rather play Minnesota than New Orleans, which means we'd have to be the 5 seed to get that. But obviously, I'll take who ever it may be if it means being in the playoffs.

I already will miss this thread in the offseason. Nothing is better than playing winning football in December. Thanks Cheez.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

If the Giants win this week and Dallas loses, the Giants take over the lead in the division and a Packer win puts Green Bay a game ahead of them all.

The main thing is that the Cowboys not win the division.
Those teams still have a lot of beating up on each other to go.

Let's just take it one week at a time. Go Chargers, Go Giants, Go Bengals, Go Saints, and of course Go Pack Go.

Actually you have no control as 5th who you get in the divisional round.
If in the other game the 3rd seed wins you get, the 1st seed, if the 6th wins you get the 2nd seed.

So if you want the Packers not to play the Saints and assuming Saints get the 1st seed, you have to hope the 6th seed (and of curse the 5th seed Packers) win in the wildcard games.

Nice job on the thread again cheez. Let's Go PACK!

On a side note..anyone know how hard it would be to get playoff tickets?

I really want to get tickets to a game, but considering I'm in PA now and will be back in NJ until Jan 19th most games will be considerably far. ..unless the Giants or Eagles win the divison and we play them!

At this point, I'm rooting for the Eagles to win that division. I want a Giants and Cowboys loss to give us some breathing room. A win would give us a two game lead over the Giants and give us a one game lead (with the tiebreaker) over the Cowboys.

At Philly or at AZ. That game at AZ could be weird. Possibly playing a resting AZ team to chose whether to go back and play an interested AZ team or to go play at Philly. Either way, we win that first game, we're probably heading to N.O.

I'd rather play Philly then Arizona IMO.

Warner plays his best when he gets blitzed, which was displayed during the Viking game. Our defense blitzes a decent amount with our new scheme. Also, Arizona is too streaky and they can come out amazing one game and then horrible the next. Plus, if we keep picking up blitzes nicely, pass protect, and AR gets rid of the ball quickly like we have been doing recently, the Eagles blitz packages don't appear to be much of a problem

Honestly, I'd love to play the Eagles the most. Followed by, Arizona, Dallas(two times can be tough), and then the Giants(That D-line could dismantle our O).

Be careful what you wish for though...Any of the wild-card games should provide a stiff test for the Packers. Thankfully, we're hot right now. We need to keep that going and pray the injury bug stays away.
