Who cares what Don Pierson thinks?
IMO, the defense was average last year and is currently better on paper. D wins championships. We still have lots of work left on the O - specifically interior lineman (which can come cheap in late draft or FA) and WR. The Sam/Ahman situation looks like a big question mark to me as well.
With Brett we have a chance to win. Without Brett, we'll be in some trouble for another year or two. My guess, 9-7 w/ #4 and 4-12 without - yes Brett gives us 5 wins next year
