  • The Dirtiest Player

Marvin Harrison owns a gun that was involved in the shooting of two men in a Philadelphia neighborhood in 2008. The main antagonist, who apparently had a running beef with Harrison, was later shot again and murdered in the same neighborhood.

We often, quite correctly, point out news pieces that are constructed on bad premises, false understandings or are simply a sensationalist riff on known facts. This piece, however, makes reading all the other detritus worth it. Its a full magazine feature, so it will take some time to get through. But I highly recommend it.

And my question is, between this and the article on concussion last year, why is it left to GQ doing the some of the best sports journalism on the planet?

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

    You're right. Fascinating read.
No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.
