Harris' future in doubt
The status of Green Bay Packers cornerback Al Harris might not be grabbing a whole lot of attention during the offseason, but it's worth a closer look, especially with the draft approaching. When healthy, Harris is among the very best players at his position. But since suffering a severe knee injury last season, Harris' health has been up in the air.
At last month's NFL Annual Meeting, Packers coach Mike McCarthy referred to it as a "real serious injury." He reported that the 35-year-old Harris was doing movement drills, "and he feels he's really making progress, and we'll just continue to watch that and see how he responds." We might very well get a good indication of the Packers' response in the draft.

Well obviously Harris's longterm future is in doubts, but at 35 it was in doubts anyways. His rehab looks to be going extremely well. I fully expect yet another solid season from Harris this year, and assuming we make the playoffs he definitely could help with the secondary issues we had last year.

i was thinking the same thing, although i highly doubt that Al had control of the tuner. His rastafarian hat and hair makes me think Marley is on hit ipod.Originally posted by Little Whiskeyits funny that the background music in the doctors office is country. didn't figure al to be a country music fan.Originally posted by bigcoz75http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Al-Harris-The-road-to-recovery-Part-V.htmlChris: Dad, what's the blow-hole for?
Peter: I'll tell you what it's not for, son. And when I do, you'll understand why I can never go back to Sea World.

It also wouldn't shock me if he was out of the NFL this year. But I get your point.Originally posted by get louder at lambeauIt honestly wouldn't shock me if Al was our best DB this year. Woodson and Collins included. Gotta love the dedication.

That WOULD shock me. Him losing a step wouldn't, but he looks like he'll be ready to go based on those videos, so being out of the NFL would shock me. Even if he reinjures the knee, I wouldn't bet against Al Harris playing more good football.Originally posted by retailguyIt also wouldn't shock me if he was out of the NFL this year. It's really hard to ever bet against Harris. His workouts are extreme, and he takes such good care of his body it's hard to imagine him not being able to perform. I mean, they were even talking in some of the videos how surprised they were with Harris on his recovery. If there is any player that can come back and perform after that injury, my money would be on Harris.Originally posted by get louder at lambeauThat WOULD shock me.
