Totally agree with you on this one. I don't see them taking Tate to be their # 3/4 WR when they have so many other pressing needs that can be addressed with the players that were left. One of the two CB's left would have been a great choice for them.
Burleson has never been more than maybe a slightly above average receiver. He won't really impact whether they take Tate. They need another threat so that teams can't double team CJ all the time. With all the top OT's gone, I could see them taking Tate.
They just drafted Derrick Williams who is a similiar player in the 3rd round last season. They have way greater needs than WR on that team.

    • Blame the earlier pick in Al's senility. He insisted earlier that we draft Jamarcus Russell again, despite the fact that he's a bust and he's already on the team. The dark lord of the Sith just kept muttering something about "We need more guys like him."

Brandon Ghee is 6'0 tall, weights 192 pounds, can run 40 yards in 4.37 seconds and 10 yards in 1.52 seconds. He can jump 37" in the air, and 10'07" horizontally from a standing position. He can lift a bar that's heavier than he is 19 times, and he can run back and forth between some cones either 3.98 or 6.75 seconds depending on what you ask him to do.

Rumor has it, he knows what a football looks like when he sees it.

He can also jump 31.5" in the air, and can do something arcane involving three cones in 7.21 seconds.

Rumor has it, he's also played football before.

        The Raiders will take him.
Was taken with the 16th pick, try again.

        • SD selects running back Best Jahvid from Cal.

After cutting LT this offseason the Chargers need a RB to split time with Sproles. Even though they have similiar styles Best has too much talent to pass up on a position of need.

Incredible combination of speed, agility and explosiveness. Can change direction without slowing down. Has great vision and runs with low center of gravity. Extremely elusive. Poor in pass protection - was actually taken out of the game during passing downs in college. Not very powerful and doesn't project as an every down back in the NFL. Ran a 4.35 at the combine with 18 reps on the bench (225 lbs).

            • Sorry guys. Golf course just opened today so I had to get a round in after work.

              Anyway...

The Bills filled a big need in the first by getting a LT. They'd love to grab a NT or a QB here but Cam Thomas would be a bit of a reach and though Tebow is inticing, this franchise isn't at the point yet were they can use a 2nd on a gamble like that. Switching to the 3-4 is going to require them to acquire some different body types and what better way than grabbing the best 5 technique in the draft. Jared Odrick is a great value here. I've heard he's had trouble holding the point against double teams but I saw differently in the senior bowl. The guy has a great motor and plays hard every snap.

With their second round pick the Buffalo Bills select Jared Odrick DT (now DE) Penn St.
              Fred's Slacks is a Winner!

                • The Buccaneers are in desperate need of an infusion of talent and McCoy and Robinson will go a long way to help plug their two biggest holes on defense. At this spot they still need help defensively but also need help on the offense and having selected Josh Freeman in the 1st round last year they desperately need to build around him. They have a chance to improve the OL or WR at this spot and I believe they will do just that. They still have solid choices left at WR and one mauling OT/OG left that would fit both needs equally well.

With the 42nd pick in the draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select...

                  Arrelious Benn, WR Illinois

Having lost their best WR (Antonio Bryant) as a free agent Michael Clayton and Maurice Stovall don't scare anyone. They also have Stoughter but he's better in the slot. While the Bucs would prefer a burner Benn brings with him tremendous talent and immediately improves the team and is someone that could be a better pro than college player. The Bucs are now 3-for-3 in grabbing BPA that also fills a huge need for this team. From here they can grab another WR, somebody for the OL or any number of players to help out that once vaunted D and with 2 additional picks in the top 100 have a chance to dramatically improve this team.

I know some prefer D. Thomas but Benn is ready to start now and isn't nearly the project Thomas is. Benn may be the WR most suited to playing in the NFL on day 1.

                  Strengths: courtesy of nfldraftcountdown.com
Excellent size with a rocked up physique --- Extremely athletic --- Plays faster than he times and has a burst --- Terrific body control, ball skills and leaping ability --- Great vision --- Nice balance --- Elusive and can either evade defenders or run them over --- Works the middle and isn't afraid to take a hit --- Able to get off the line and beat the jam --- An above average blocker --- Real strong, physical and aggressive --- Is super tough and competitive --- Also a return man --- Still has upside.

                  Weaknesses:
Does not have natural hands and concentration wanes which leads to dropped passes --- Isn't a polished route runner --- Average timed speed and is not much of a vertical threat --- Appears to be tightly- wound and a tad stiff --- Durability is a concern --- Marginal production.

                  Notes:
Nickname is "Rejus", which is what many call him --- Was a three-year starter for the Fighting Illini --- A team captain as a sophomore and junior --- Named the 2007 Big Ten Freshman of the Year --- Garnered 1st Team All-Big Ten honors in 2008 --- Was a top recruit who had his pick of elite college programs out of high school but instead chose to join Ron Zook's rebuilding effort --- Caught at least one pass in 36 of 37 games played --- Averaged 23.7 yards with 1 touchdown on 42 career kick returns --- Was severely hampered by an ankle injury in 2009 --- Very talented wideout who was severely underutilized due to inconsistencies at the quarterback position --- Is physically mature and ready to play in the NFL right now --- Profiles as a starter and is the type who could end up being better in the pros than he was in college.

                  • The Miami Dolphins, who were able to select the big NT in the 1st round to replace the suspended and aging Jason Ferguson, now turn their attention to another position.
This team needs help at WR, Safety, LB (signed Karlos Dansby as a free agent), a 3rd CB due to Will Allen's legal problems and if the right player was available would look to OL as well - never hurts to help that bread-and-butter running game.

For this pick I looked at all of the players that would be an excellent fit at at a position of need for this team which included Vlad Ducasse, Nate Allen, Devin McCourty, Daryl Washington, Eric Norwood, Koa Misi, Ricky Sapp, and Demaryius Thomas and while each of these could be great players and fill holes on this team something just doesn't seem right. Jared Odrick would have been the pick here but he went 2 picks ahead of them to rival Buffalo so in looking back and analyzing who they really are, the Miami Dolphins with pick #43 select...

                    Tim Tebow, QB Florida

While this a complete shocker to most especially with Chad Henne as the starting QB and just having selected Pat White in the 2nd round last year there isn't an offense in the NFL that is geared more towards the unique talents Tim Tebow has than the Miami Dolphins Wildcat offense. He's Pat White x1,000 and he can sit behind Henne for a while and take part in a few plays each game while learning how to throw like a professional QB. His running skills in this offense make him dangerous and combined with Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams creates a trifecta that could give rival defensive coordinators fits.

While I realize that this likely isn't the player they'd take I can also see the huge benefits if they were to select him such as an extremely talented athlete and a local product that would excite the fans and make them forget about not selecting a WR with this pick.

                    Strengths:
Good height and outstanding bulk --- Terrific athleticism --- Excellent strength --- Arm is strong enough to make all the throws --- Can throw on the run --- Shows some elusiveness --- Can buy time in the pocket and make plays with his legs --- Powerful runner --- Extraordinarily competitive --- Tough as nails --- Fantastic work ethic --- Smart --- Has a ton of experience against top-notch competition --- Incredible leader.

                    Weaknesses:
Zero experience in a pro style offense --- A long delivery and serious mechanical issues with his throwing motion --- Has trouble throwing a tight spiral --- Not overly accurate --- Poor footwork --- Will have to adjust to taking snaps from under center --- Must learn how to read defenses and coverages --- Marginal vision --- Is too eager to run at times --- Minor durability concerns --- May have to learn a new position.

                    Notes:
A three-year starter for the Gators --- Regarded as one of the greatest players in college football history --- Helped lead Florida to two BCS National Championships --- Became the first sophomore to ever win the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and was also a finalist in 2008 and 2009 --- A three-time All-American (1st Team in 2007, 3rd Team in 2008 and 2nd Team in 2009) --- Earned 1st Team All-SEC honors in 2007, 2008 and 2009 --- A two-time winner of the Maxwell Award (2008 and 2009), given to the Collegiate Player of the Year --- Winner of the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award in 2007 --- Recipient of the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, given to the most outstanding senior student-athlete, in 2009 --- Elected a captain by his teammates as a junior and senior --- Became the only player in NCAA history to ever rush and pass for more than 20 touchdowns in a single season in 2007 --- Extremely active in the community and works intensively with a wide assortment of charitable foundations --- Has traveled to the Philippines for mission trips on a number of occasions --- Could also project to Tight End, H-Back or Fullback at the next level --- Physical style of play has led to his body taking quite a pounding over the years --- Product of Urban Meyer's spread system, which did little or nothing to prepare him for the pros --- Has the physical tools to play quarterback in the NFL and intangibles are second to none but is basically a raw ball of clay at this point --- A long-term project who will likely require at least 2-3 years of development but can contribute in other ways in the meantime --- Will probably be selected earlier than he should be based on his impressive college résumé and absolutely impeccable character --- Just might go down as the most controversial prospect in the history of the NFL Draft.

                      That'd be good stuff

Honestly never saw or heard about that. It just adds to the obvious reasons of why they should indeed take him if given a choice in the 2nd round.

                            • Miami doesnt need Tim Tebow, they should have went after a OLB to replace Porter with the 2nd pick. Tebow will be no where near the runner in the NFL that he was in college and I believe he would not be a success in the wild cat package.

                              • Having addressed their greatest defensive weakness with the selection of Brandon Graham, the Patriots will address the running game. Laurence Maroney hasn't really been the answer, and was in Belichick's doghouse last year because of fumbling problems. Sammy Morris, Fred Taylor and Kevin Faulk are all over 30. Therefore, with the 44th overall pick in the draft, the New England Patriots select:

                                Jonathan Dwyer RB Georgia Tech

                                Strengths:
Excellent size --- Good athlete --- Nimble feet --- Changes directions well and shows some wiggle through the line --- Plays faster than he times --- Strong, powerful downhill runner --- Good vision --- Hits the hole with authority and doesn't dance around --- Breaks a lot of tackles and will run through or over defenders --- Fierce stiff arm --- Real tough and durable --- Doesn't have too many miles on his tires --- Productive.

                                Weaknesses:
Has had issues with weight and conditioning --- Is not very elusive in space --- Lacks great speed --- Will have trouble getting outside and turning the corner --- Is very raw as a blocker --- Limited experience as a pass catcher and route runner --- Must adjust to a pro style offense after working in the option --- Questionable motor and aggressiveness.
                                I can't run no more
