Like I said, it's a surprise pick and most people won't be on board with it. I will agree that he isn't a player they need (Aaron Rodgers) and they do need a OLB but the NFL draft is full of surprises (Justin Harrell/Darius Heyward-Bey) from every team so, as much as we like to criticize when someone makes a pick we don't agree with, in reality we have no idea what teams are going to do until they actually draft a player. I'm guilty of doing this myself.

Tebow has a chance to run the ball and more importantly has the desire and attitude to be a winner. He has more intangibles than any other player in this draft, including the ability to be a leader on a team sorely in need of one, and if he turns into the passing threat some people think he will be than the sky's the limit. I will stand by this pick.

    • jm is back on the clock with Denver's pick.
      I can't run no more
      With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
      Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up

      • It'll have to come later tonight. I spend a lot of time with these picks and I'm scheduled to take the girls to grandma's to decorate eggs. Maybe my next pick will be more to Brandon's suiting.

            • Having locked up Dez Bryant and traded for Brady Quinn the Broncos are content with their skill position players. They do need another interior lineman and an inside LB as well as a player or two in the secondary (doesn't everyone). I'm going to go with the guy I've grown somewhat fond of while doing all of this research and would love for Green Bay to get in the second round. With the 45th pick the Denver Broncos select...

              Vladimir Ducasse, OT/OG Massachusetts

Ducasse is a massive mountain of a man at 6'4" and 335 pounds and is the type of player that Denver is looking to draft for their O-line now; mountains. They have a need at OG so Ducasse can play there and if they ever need a tackle he can swing out that way as well. He's another guy where the sky is the limit due to inexperience and a lack of major college competition though he has all the intangibles needed to be a force in this league. With the additions of Quinn, Bryant, and Ducasse the Broncos will now turn their attention to defense.

Daryl Washington, Sean Lee, and Devin McCourty were the other considerations at this spot.

              Strengths:
Excellent size with a huge frame and long arms --- Tough, physical and aggressive --- Very strong --- Good athleticism and agility --- Quick and fires off the snap --- Light on his feet --- Gets an outstanding push in the run game --- Stout at the point of attack and can anchor --- Mobile with range to pull, get out in space and reach the second level --- Is feisty and competitive with a nasty on-field demeanor --- Zealous work ethic --- Is versatile --- Durable --- Experienced --- Considerable upside.

              Weaknesses:
Questionable instincts and awareness --- Inconsistent leverage and pad level --- Footwork will need to be refined --- Average slide and mirror ability --- Trouble sustaining and falls off blocks --- Concentration and focus will wane at times --- Did not face a lot of quality competition.

              Notes:
Last name is pronounced "DOO-cahss" --- Was a three-year starter for the Minutemen --- Born in Port Au Prince, Haiti and didn't come to the United States until 2002, when he was 14-years-old --- Earned 1st Team FCS All-American honors in 2009 --- Named 1st Team All-CAA in 2008 and 2009 --- Also fluent in French and Creole and didn't learn English until his freshman year of high school --- Was a team captain as a senior --- Could project to either tackle or guard at the next level and has experience at both positions --- Still raw and relatively new to the game but is an extremely intriguing prospect with all the physical tools as well as the top - notch intangibles needed to maximize his potential.

Bretsky and his NY Giants pick are on the clock and I have a feeling he's going to be happy.

              • The Giants GM is toasting the cities and baffled as to why a first round talent would slip to him this far. This is not a need pick; but this guy is clearly the BPA on the board and one of the most explosive special team players coming out of the draft.

The Giants expect multiple Pro Bowl Years from their second round draft pick, Devin McCourtey, CB from Rutgers
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

                • The temptation is to go defense here. However, Wes Welker is coming off a serious injury, and Randy Moss is entering the final year of his contract. Therefore, Billy B takes a player who is not only a need, but who has as much upside as anyone left on his board. That player is

                  Demaryius Thomas WR Georgia Tech

                  Strengths:
Excellent height and bulk with long arms and large hands --- Very athletic --- Deceptive speed --- Great leaping ability --- Terrific ball skills and body control --- Vertical threat who makes plays downfield --- Real physical and aggressive --- Knows how to use his size --- Runs with power and will break tackles --- Nice vision --- Good strength --- Terrific stiff-arm --- Above average blocker --- Competitive --- Still has upside.

                  Weaknesses:
Will drop some passes --- A very unpolished route runner --- Not overly quick or explosive and lacks a burst --- Not real elusive and won't make defenders miss --- Pad level might be a problem --- Ability to beat the jam is a question mark --- Must adjust to a pro style offense --- Health?
                  I can't run no more

It nothing personal man, I just don't like Tebow and think he'll be a bust in the NFL. QB is not a need for the Fins and not the BPA so I just found the pick odd. Also in the future I wouldnt try to use Harrell and Darius Heyward-Bey to make your case for drafting Tebow.

                    • The Panthers defense really hasn't recovered since trading Cullen Jenkin's brother, Kris, to the Jets, and now they lost Julius Peppers in free agency, so defensive line help is needed. QB is a consideration, they released Delhome but John Fox likes Matt Moore, who was 6-2 as a starter last year. WR is a consideration, Dwayne Jarrett appears to be a flop and Steve Smith is always double and triple teamed.
                      The Panthers select:
                      Eric Decker, WR, Minnesota

Release: Very good quickness off the line even with his height and strong build. Gets to top speed fast but doesn't have a breakaway gear. Beats the jam using his hands and a sidestep. Recognizes holes in the defense, and looks for the ball immediately.

Hands: Excellent hands, extending them outside his body. Looks the ball in and doesn't let go under pressure. Good concentration in traffic; has the size and vertical to win jump balls. Brings in poorly thrown passes anywhere in his vicinity. Tracks the ball over both shoulders.

Route running: Lines up in the slot and on the sideline; runs all of the routes on the tree. Creates separation with his hands and speed down the sideline, providing nice target. Aware of the first down marker. Understands the offense very well. Works to get free if quarterback is in trouble. Inconsistent planting and driving on out routes.

After the catch: Has enough elusiveness and agility to be used on slip screens at 6-3, 215 pounds. Can stop quickly to let oncoming defenders fly by. Tightropes the sideline on deep patterns. Runs through arm tackles, but doesn't give out hits to smaller defensive backs to get additional yardage.

Blocking: Improved his blocking during his senior year, using his size to negate smaller cornerbacks on the edge. Instead of trying to cut his man or allowing corners to disengage early, as he did in previous seasons, Decker sought out contact and looked willing to sustain so running backs have room to roam when bouncing outside.

Intangibles: Natural athlete with good work habits. Played through high ankle sprain as much as possible last fall, and worked hard to return from knee surgery for bowl game following his junior season. Respected in the locker room.

                      NFL Comparison: Jordy Nelson, Packers
                      Thanks Ted!

He has been considered with almost every pick I made. He lost in a coin toss to Patrick Robinson, Miami selected Tebow, and Denver went with the big hog. He was second in all of those decisions but nice pick for the Giants.

                          We're good.

I don't know, something tells me that Henne isn't the answer at QB either. There were times where he looked abysmal and he's not great. People also said Brady wouldn't ever become anything and look how that turned out.

As for the Bey & Harrell names, I was just showing how surprising the NFL draft can be. Most consider Davis absolutely bonkers but feel TT is a shrewd drafter yet they both took very surprising choices at positions that weren't absolute necessities; especially TT. He seems to do it more often than most with Harrell and Rodgers.

                          • The 49ers had their eye on Thomas Demaryius but he was taken just a few picks before so they have decided to go with the BPA.

With the 49th pick in the NFL draft the 49ers select CB Jackson Kareem

                            Overview

Jackson has an excellent combination of size and athleticism for the position. He is a very confident defender that will play tight to his opponent in both man and zone coverage schemes. Jackson shows great foot quickness burst and speed to stay with top receivers. He is an instinctive player that is quick to anticipate and jump routes as plays unfold. He is a competitive player but is inconsistent to as a run support defender. Jackson needs to rap up ball carriers better on the perimeter as well as corralling receivers in the open field. Kareem Jackson is an excellent football player that won’t last long on the first day of the 2010 draft if his shoulder checks out.-NFL.com
                            Strengths

Jackson possesses tremendous size for a corner and great athleticism. Has been a highly-productive player in a complex college scheme. Is a really instinctive performer against the run and pass. Has the aggressiveness and confidence we love to see in CBs and does a great job in man and zone coverage. Has the ball skills to make big plays.-NFL.com
                            Weaknesses

Durability (past shoulder surgeries) is the main area of concern with Jackson. He can be an inconsistent tackler both in run support when against receivers in the open field. Jackson takes too many chances at times and can be beaten for the big play.-NFL.com
