The 36 Best Undrafted Players Since '36

My paltry list before reading: Kurt Warner, Antonio Gates, Rod Smith, Willie Parker, Jeff Saturday.
I know I am forgetting some contemporary players, but what is really hard are the historical players. I could probably tell you where a handful of Packer greats were drafted but have no idea who in the history of the NFL made an impact after going undrafted.

Apparently I was mixing up ex-Browns and former Packers when counting. Warner is spot on, but there is one other and associated with the Lombardi Packers.
There are a ton of Browns in the list, largely due to the ban on blacks in the NFL when the Browns were formed. Paul Brown signed a number of Hall of Famers and good players who simply did not have a chance in the older league.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

He is the last name in the list of 36. And it was sorted alphabetically by last name.Originally posted by hoosierDon't know who the Lombardi Packer is, but presumably he's easy to find in a Google search. Maybe someone else knows.
Wasn't Warren Moon also undrafted in the NFL?
Moon was indeed undrafted.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I did not see that the second installment was available when I first looked at the list. Warren Moon was really excavated from my own hazy memory of the early 1980s. But I suppose that whatever credit I get for him is erased by my ignorance about Willy Wood's draft status.

So did Lou Groza block a guy then hurry up and run back and kick the ball through the uprights?
Wow. Last guy I remember playing multiple spots like that was Wayne Walker, Detroit Lions linebacker and placekicker."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

We need somebody to be in charge of nicknames these days.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Mad Dog?Originally posted by GuinessMy favorite undrafted NFL superstar is also the name of a damn fine bottle of fortified wine!
Mogen David 20/20 = Mad Dog = Mike Douglass but he was drafted with the 116th pick of the 1978 draft.
Hmmm? Port? Sherry? A Cask of Amontillado?[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.
