Completely off topic, but Jones looks like a defensive back in that picture. Driver has more muscular arms than he does. He needs to spend some serious time in the weight room.

And now, back to the fashion show.
    I can't run no more
    With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
    Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
    A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

Four years later, new head coach Lisle Blackbourn decided to clear the slate and brought back navy as the Packers' primary color. His preferred uniform was a navy jersey with dark gold numbers and sleeve stripes, dark gold helmets and pants with single navy stripe.

I attended my first Packer game as an 8 year old kid. '57 in Milwaukee. The Pack ran on the field in really sharp uniforms. Blue jerseys, gold pants and gold helmets with a red stripe!?!. Why the helmet had a red stripe is unknown to man at this time.

I asked my dad, "I thought the Green Bay Packers wore green"?

"So did I" he replied with a laugh.

It was the Pack vs the 9ers, both teams looked fantastic with their gold helmets. The color of the jersey wasn't really Navy Blue. It was a really cool bluish green, mostly blue with a green tint to it. It was very neat. whether it should be retro-ed or not, I dunno. Those Uni's are much cooler than this retro of the '29 uniform.

I'll post it, if I can figure out how to post an image off my hard drive.[/img]

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I'm digging the Packer throwbacks. The throwbacks Denver wore last year set a new fashion low that cannot be beat.

To much of a good thing is an awesome thing

I'd love to see an image of those uni's too KY.

There were a lot of crazy uniforms from days gone by. The team did flirt with green prior to '50 as well, although it was never their mainstay.

Here are some f'ugly ones from '35.

Then there were these all-green nasties from '53.

I don't have a color pic, but you can get a sense of the all-gold version from '52.

The image is being shipped around the world via PB & cyberspace, hopefully we'll get it up there.

#52 in that picture is Champ Seibold. Champ was one of my friends dad. He was a boy scout leader and used to tell some fantastic stories about the Lambeau Packers.

I remember some of 'em, but I definitely should have written 'em down. he was good friends with Don Hutson (they all were) and told some cool tales of behind the scenes stuff about Don.

Haven't seen it yet, KY, but I will keep my eyes peeled.

Great story about your friend's Dad. The closest I can come to that is that my father knew (or went to the same school with) Mike Adamle, the NBC football announcer (later American Gladiator's announcer). While I was impressed he knew a former NFL player and current announcer, my father was more impressed that Mike's father Tony, was a football player for the Browns in the 40s and 50s.

Do you have a picture? I can't recall.
Yeah, someone found it and posted it on p1 of this thread. It's Reuttgers standing on the sideline with a jack-o-latern sticker pasted to the back of his helmet.
Yeah - i saw that AFTER i posted
