Ya, at the combine. Reported by SI, I believe, shortly after the combine. Who ever it was came back a week or so later and retracted it very specifically, saying their source was wrong.

As I recall, the testing lab who never says anything about anyone except in a report to the league first came out and said the story was wrong because the report wasn't even issued yet. A few days later they came back and said that to clarify more completely, with the players' and leagues consent, they stated that the players originally named in the story were not on the list of players with failed tests. I believe it did include both Raji and Mathews.

I smelled a potential lawsuit, and believe I said so on here. But I believe all players were drafted at about where expected, they got their millions, and probably were better advised to let the controversy die.

I think there may have been a story also about Raji getting caught in HS at a party where there was weed, but I doubt that is unusual.

Like a prizefighters' jab, he measures you up by seeing if you really meant what you said. If you answer back politely but maintain your position Step Two is a polite rebuttal. If you challenge his rebuttal you get the full-force Patlerization with names, dates, context, and hard data written in a John Facenda tone.

SI retracted, but they were repeating another report.

NFLDraftBible.com was the source of the initial story and they held out until the official report on testing was released to teams. They they retracted.

It's fitting, we suppose, that one of the strangest pre-draft episodes would end in such an unusual manner.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

On the contrary. I sewed my "Patlerized 3 Times" Patch onto my PackerRats bowling shirt.

On the plus side for rumoring mongering, Raji later admitted that he tested positive while at BC.

Here are two other mock drafts I found on yahoo.com

One has us taking OT Davis and the other has us taking RB Matthews.

Pretty cool idea, but how do you get it to show more than the first ten picks?

you click on the name of the mock in the far left column.

they just changed it up this year. i open them in a new tab or window, then you get a full window sized site. if you just click on the link it'll show the page in a little box that you have to scroll through, just like one the list is in.

No problem at all I've been lurking around this site long enough to know what to expect with Patler. A couple things: at this time last year there were still alot of questions about the marijuana issue, the retraction came April 21 I believe, plus he was an admitted user at BC; he missed two consecutive(for him) preseasons with shoulder injuries not a big deal yet still a flag

My whole point is the argument that TT won't pick up a player in the first with question marks is flawed. We're talking about pick 23 and a player that has simply been a beast on the field and was a top 10 projection coming into the off season. Anyways I see it more like an Andre Smith situation last year, way overblown and he won't be available anywhere near 23.

What a huge discrepancy of opinion on Bulaga. Has the Brylcreem penetrated into Mel's brain? He seems to be the only pundit that has him that low.

In this clip, Mel seems to think this year's LT class is not that great.
