Michael Montgomery wasn’t a good fit in the Packers’ 3-4 defense, and thus the team cut him earlier this off-season. Now the Minneapolis Star-Tribune is reporting Montgomery is scheduled to visit the Minnesota Vikings today.
Montgomery (6-5, 282) was drafted in the sixth round out of Texas A&M in 2005 by the Packers and had eight career starts and five sacks. He is projected as a backup defensive end on either side if he signs with the Vikings--Mike Vandermause, mvandermause@greenbaypressgazette.com.
