I'll bet Ted could have been a pretty good poker player.

because when you're good enough it's not really gambling.

In this deep draft it would be cool to see Ted moving back and then back up again to get a couple of guys he really likes. Less Jordies and Justins and more Jennings and Clays, please.

How did we survive 2003 and 2004 drafts?

Thank goodness we hit a good player with Barnett.

It's not out of control until Drew Barrymore is hired to help coach the rookies but has troubles with her tear-away jersey.

2007 looks like a classic Wolf draft. Top end not so hot, but back end is where the scouts made their money. Jackson is serviceable, James Jones has had glimpses, Rouse I thought was going to make it - donno what happened there, Barbre will still be a good backup, Clowney has done well elsewhere, Hall is on the team, Bishop is OK, Crosby is good, Wynn - eh, and Harris was a stretch.

This is a really good draft. If there's any draft to get into, this is the one. There are likely guys who will go in the fourth or later this year who might would have been first day picks in previous drafts.

That is exactly it. I got my 3 draft magazines this weekend, and have done some reading as well. It's amazing how many different opinions there are this year, because it is that deep in talent this year.

I know people are screaming for Teddy to go get some top end talent this year, but I'm almost thinking to add some picks and get as many of these kids as we can.

Another guy I've been jumping towards looking at in round 3-5 is Koa Misi from Utah.
I found a mock draft within the last week that had him (Misi) going to the Browns in Round 2 to replace Wimbley, specifically for his pass rush.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I haven't seen Misi play (hopefully those who have can comment), but it's hard to ignore his lack of productivity on the field. 3 sacks last year doesn't exactly jump off the stat sheet. Even Poppinga had 5 in teh WAC his senior year.

                        His measurables look good though.

so in the wake of the McNabb trade, I felt very "Mockery"....

There are so many variables that could happen in picks 2-30, it's very crazy to look at this and think each team could have about 2-4 different options.

                          enjoy!

                          ND Official Mock 2.0

                          1. Rams – Sam Bradford, QB Oklahoma
The rams have needed to look to their future from the start of the offseason, and that future has to be a QB. I’ve said before, not a Bradford fan. But, if they allow him to sit and learn, I think he could be alright.
                          Previous Pick: Sam Bradford

                          2. Lions – Ndamukong Suh, DT Nebraska
The Lions have made some off season moves to bulster their Defense. For a while I have thought they will protect their investment in Stafford and go LT at this pick. But within the past few days I’ve read and done some thinking that their Head Coach is a Defensive guy, and he is going to build his defense, and Suh is his Albert Haynesworth, difference maker.
                          Previous Pick: Russell Okung

                          3. Buccaneers – Gerald McCoy, DT Oklahoma
I’ve believed the Bucs have targeted a DT at this pick as long as one of the 2 guys is still there. If he’s not, it becomes really interesting to see what they do, maybe trade down? In this instance, Gerald McCoy is the one left, unfortunate for Tampa right?
                          Previous Pick: Ndamukong Suh

                          4. Redskins – Russel Okung, OT Oklahoma St.
Washington made their investment with trading for Donavan McNabb, now they protect that investment. Okung is the top LT in the draft, and it is another step forward towards Shannahan improvement on offense.
                          Previous Pick: Jimmy Clausen

                          5. Chiefs – Eric Berry, S Tennessee
I’ve long thought the Chiefs will want to keep building their Offensive Line, but the more I’ve thought on it, the more I keep thinking Berry is their man in this draft.
                          Previous Pick: Bryan Bulaga

                          6. Seahawks – Anthony Davis, OT Rutgers
Seattle will have to discuss to take either their future QB in Jimmy Claussen, or shore up their OL with an LT. For now they get by at QB, and go with their future LT to help out their OL, and Davis is their man there.
                          Previous Pick: Gerald McCoy

                          7. Browns – Bryan Bulaga, OT Iowa
What couldn’t the Browns use on their team? Probably anything but Left Tackle! They might consider Claussen, but the opportunity to solidify their OL with Bulaga opposite Joe Thomas, all of a sudden the Browns might have one of the best OLs in the NFL. Cleveland looks later to take a QB, and allow Delhome to play for a year or 2.
                          Previous Pick: Eric Berry

                          8. Raiders – Bruce Campbell, OT Maryland
I like Bruce Campbell a lot, around the bottom of the 1st round. But this is Al Davis. Could Donavan McNabb be coming to Oakland? If he is, and they still own this pick, it could be more of a reason for Davis to take an offensive lineman to try to bulster that unit. Campbell has freakish potential, hopefully the Raiders aren’t a curse.
                          Previous Pick: Bruce Campbell

                          9. Bills – Jimmy Clausen, QB Notre Dame
The Bills are another team that could go in any direction, and it would instantly help the team in some way. The Bills probably consider their OL here, but Claussen allows them to build with something they haven’t had since Jim Kelly, a Franchise QB.
                          Previous Pick: Trent Williams

                          10. Jaguars – Derrick Morgan, DE Georgia Tech
The Jags signed Aaron Kampman, meaning they can look elsewhere, right? Wrong. Jags have put a premium on Defense, specifically Defensive Line. They will continue gaining talent by taking Derrick Morgan.
                          Previous Pick: Dez Bryant

                          11. Broncos – Rolando McClain, ILB Alabama
I am going to stick with this pick until Brandon Marshall is traded. If he is traded, Dez Bryant becomes a high priority for them at this pick. McClain, however, comes in day 1 as a MLB in a 3-4 defense he is used to being in while at Alabama.
                          Previous Pick: Rolando McClain

                          12. Dolphins – Sergio Kindle, OLB Texas
Joey Porter is gone, so who is left at OLB? 36 year old Jason Taylor. They signed Karlos Dansby in the offseason, and bringing in a guy like Kindle keeps this defense growing, and brings in a very talented rookie who could be a leader early on for Miami.
                          Previous Pick: Jason Pierre-Paul

                          13. 49ers – Joe Haden, CB Florida
49ers could go in a number of directions, but Joe Haden makes the most sense. With Haden across from Spencer, that gives them a huge boost in the defensive backfield. Bulstering their DL, LB, WR and even another QB in the later rounds will move the 49ers forwards in a very pathetic division.
                          Previous Pick: Joe Haden

                          14. Seahawks – Carlos Dunlap, DE Florida
Seattle is putting a premium on improvement through their OL & DL, and Carlos Dunlap gives Seattle a pass rush, as well as some solid run support on the DL.
                          Previous Pick: CJ Spiller

                          15. Giants – Jason Pierre-Paul, DE USF
When I think of the New York Giants, all I think of is their defense. For some reason, I don’t see them going in any other direction other than defense though, especially right now. Pierre-Paul has a high ceiling and will have time to learn and develop.
                          Previous Pick: Sean Witherspoon

                          16. Titans – Brandon Graham, DE Michigan
This could play out in any number of directions. They have lost their best 2 Defensive Line man the past 2 years, and haven’t done too much to upgrade. Tennessee just saw 2 top pass rushing DE’s get taken ahead of them, and decide they can’t let another one go past them and snatch up Brandon Graham.
                          Previous Pick: Derrick Morgan

                          17. 49ers – C.J. Spiller, RB Clemson
49ers are sitting in perfect position at this point. They have a wide range of selections they could go with. While they could look to be position specific, I think they go with best player on the board, and the best player on the board is Spiller, who gives Alex Smith another weapon to continue his attempt to revive his career.
                          Previous Pick: Anthony Davis

                          18. Steelers – Kyle Wilson, CB Boise State
2009 was without question a huge disappointment for all of Pittsburgh. This is the Steelers, and when you’re down, you improve your defense. The Steelers D was shreded by many teams last year through the air. Kyle Wilson is a very underrated CB, and will be a perfect fit for the Steelers.
                          Previous Pick: Kyle Wilson

                          19. Falcons – Everson Griffen, DE USC
The Falcons need an upgrade in the pass rush area. Jamaal Anderson has been a huge bust, and Griffen is pretty much the last DE left on the board at this point, and is a pretty solid fit for the Falcons on day 1.
                          Previous Pick: Brandon Graham

                          20. Texans – Earl Thomas, S Texas
Houston has one goal, beat Indianapolis. One way to do that is to bulster your team with the best Defensive Backs possible. Earl Thomas is a great fit for the Texans Defense, and will be a home town favorite.
                          Previous Pick: Earl Thomas

                          21. Bengals – Taylor Mays, S USC
Marvin Lewis wants to create a dominate defense, and 2 things Lewis loves on his defense is speed and hitting, Mays brings both.
                          Previous Pick: Jermaine Gresham

                          22. Patriots – Dez Bryant, WR Oklahoma State
Pretty much all of the Defensive players the Pats are looking at are gone, but Dez Bryant has fallen straight into the perfect situation.
                          Previous Pick: Sergio Kindle

                          23. Packers – Charles Brown, OT USC
One thing is for sure, Ted Thompson never does what you expect him to do, except in this situation. Green Bay might look for some top defensive players to grab to continue growing on defense, but at this point, they are all gone, so Thompson goes with his top Tackle left on the board.
                          Previous Pick: Taylor Mays

                          24. Eagles – Sean Witherspoon, LB Missouri
Eagles trade McNabb might lead some to believe they will go offense to give Kolb or Vick as many weapons as possible, however if they want to take that next step, Defense will be the way to go, and Witherspoon is too great of value at 24 for them to pass up.
                          Previous Pick: Ryan Matthews

                          25. Ravens – Jermaine Gresham, TE Oklahoma
Gresham is one of the guys the Ravens had targeted as a guy to take if he’s there, well he’s there, and they take him. Baltimore’s Offense now goes from being OK, to being dangerous next year, which makes their Defense even more dangerous.
                          Previous Pick: Dan Williams

                          26. Cardinals – Trent Williams, OT Oklahoma
What a horrible offseason for the Cardinals. Don’t worry, you play in the NFC West. You’re going to have a new QB in Arizona, you either find him some weapons, especially since you just traded Boldin, or you find a way to protect that QB. Trent Williams has taken a huge fall in the draft, but finds a perfect spot in Arizona.
                          Previous Pick: Golden Tate

                          27. Cowboys – Mike Iupati, G Idaho
This is one team that is hard to choose, because they are pretty solid across the board. The one area they are starting to need an influx of talent, is on the Offensive Line. Iupati can play Guard or Tackle, and at least be a solid backup his first few years as he learns the system.
                          Previous Pick: Mike Iupati

                          28. Chargers – Ryan Matthews, RB Fresno State
It has been a difficult offseason for the Chargers, but all is not lost in San Diego. Matthews comes in as is a great 1-2 punch with Sproles and helps the offense out a lot.
                          Previous Pick: Brian Price

                          29. Jets – Golden Tate, WR Notre Dame
What a great offseason for the Jets. Cromartie at CB, Tomlinson at RB, and now a solid WR to come in and help give more weapons to Sanchez. Watch out New York, the Jets might be fore real.
                          Previous Pick: Jared Odrick

                          30. Vikings – Dan Williams, DT Tennessee
Vikings are feeling good and rightfully so. If Favre comes back, they’ll be in line to make a strong run again in the NFC. Williams is a steal for them here at 30, and the fact that one of the other 2 Williams boys (Pat) is near ending his career, Dan Williams is a great find for them.
                          Previous Pick: Maukrice Pouncey

                          31. Colts – Maurkice Pouncey, C/G Florida
For the team that has everything, you take the best player you need. Offensive Line seems to be an on going saga for the Colts. I think every year I put OL as a pick for them, and usually they don’t take one, so count that as another year for me. I believe the Colts SHOULD go Defensively, but will go Offensively with this pick.
                          Previous Pick: Charles Brown

                          32. Saints – Brian Price, DT UCLA
For as much as the Saints knocked Brett Favre around in the NFC Championship Game, you wouldn’t think they’d be looking to shore up a DL, but the Saints find a great DT to put in place in their rotation day 1 to solidify their defensive line for a few years.
                          Previous Pick: Everson Griffen[/i]
"I would love to have a guy that always gets the key hit, a pitcher that always makes his best pitch and a manager that can always make the right decision. The problem is getting him to put down his beer and come out of the stands and do those things." - Danny Murraugh

My biggest problem with my mock is Trent Williams....He should probably go higher, essentially probalby not get past San Fran, but I also see SF thinking they can upgrade at the position later. There could be a huge run on OT from pick 4 through essentially 17 where all of the 1st round Tackle talent, in my opinion, could be gone.
