I like Iupati and Pouncey are prospects, but both have low positional value for Green Bay as the interior OL is good enough to not spent premium picks on it. Iupati plays a bit sloppy and out of control, and is a grabber. Pouncey is pretty good all around and should be a good Center for a long time.

However, for a team that has an "okay" interior OL, spending a fifth round pick on it is a much better choice than spending a 1st round pick on it.

But to be honest, I've watched a lot of TCU over the past few years, I like watching them play defense. Haven't watched much Idaho, and I tend to avoid Florida when they're not playing against a respectable opponent (which is frequently.)

    • A lot of you guys are overreacting to Colledge. Even if he doesn't win the starting job, we better have 2 interior linemen that would be better backups than Colledge before trading or cutting him. 2 years ago he graded out as our best linemen, better than Wells, Clifton AND Tauscher. I hope he's a Packer next year, even if he isn't a starter.

He's had some bad games, but he's had games with some awesome zone blocks that turned into touchdowns. I remember more games that we didn't talk about him that ones where we ripped on him.

        Certainly he could be upgraded.

        He'd be a good back-up I guess.
Always whining about his contract. Refused to sign tender. Makes too many mistakes. A%^ho)@

We didnt' offer him a contract. If he refuses to sign his tender he won't be here anyway. That should have nothing to do with whether he'd be a quality backup for us or not.

I was a big Colledge fan. WAS. His off season conduct did it for me.

If he's gone, who's starting at LG. If it's Spitz, then who's our backup interior lineman? A lot of questions to answer before suggesting he be cut or traded.

                    154 -- Packers -- TE Andrew Quarless

We are at the point in the draft now where teams will begin to take chances on talent. Quarless is a gifted TE with size, speed and very good hands. He spent most of his career in Joe Paterno's dog house before breaking out his senior year with 41 receptions. Put the tape on against Michigan if you doubt his value as a verticle receiver. If he blocks better, and works harder, he's a starter in the NFL.
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

That is the issue -- he wants a long term k like collins and jennings.

with spitz, lang, bulaga, tcu pick the packers can get rid of colledege like moll.

if moll brought martin colledge could fetch more. colledge should go join palin.

Awesome! Then Arod folded up his phone and put on the air belt - oh yeah!!! Wonder what precipitated that?

Not sure. Must have been some sort of comment from Finley about the Quarless pick.

                            • Newhouse isn't going to be better than Colledge fresh out of the draft. If you're suggesting we dump Colledge because we drafted Newhouse, well, that sounds crazy to me. Colledge will sign his tender if he wants to play football this year, so for THIS year, we don't have to offer Colledge anything. We should be making that evaluation on whether to dump him or trade him next offseason, not this one.
