  • Keeping Draft Secrets

I've been thinking about how exactly a team tries to keep its draft board secret. I wonder how many guys actually see the team's draft board? And how much cheating do teams try to do? I mean, if Bill Belichik is using cameras on other teams, imagine the worth of knowing exactly what Ted Thompson's draft board might look like.

Are the teams' scouts sworn to secrecy with blood and promises to stick needles in their eyes if they tell? Does info ever get sold or traded by traitorous types?

Then I read the JSO article this morning, in which "league sources" claim that TT really likes Bulage, Davis, and Pouncey on the offensive line. How'd they get that info? Is this conjecture based on where Ted's been seen scouting? Is someone inside the organization spilling secrets?

Given the need for secrecy regarding the draft board, I wonder if shenanigans are pulled around the league.

Anybody have any insight on this?

I wonder who McGinn's sources are and how reliable they are, it could just be a bunch of made up BS to sell papers. We'll find out today how much TT likes those guys.
    Thanks Ted!

McGinn has never identified who his scout actually is.

Rumor has it his scout tells more than he should after a second piece of cake.

[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

A friend of mine and I were speculating as to who gets to see the actual draft board. Could it be limited to TT, MM, head of pro scouting and head of college scouting?

That would mean the secrets wouldn't leak, that way.

Is that kid reacting to the Mandarich pick?

McGinn did well with his 2009 mock. http://www.thehuddlereport.com/Free/...tscoring.shtml

I wonder how much a minority owner would know...

J.Lo (part owner of the 'phins) was on a talk show, talking about how they needed DT help, and she liked Dan Williams.

I wonder if she was blowing smoke, or if she made smoke come out of the other owner's ears?

Let's hope Lindsey Lohan or Paris Hilton don't own any stock in the Packers.
