There was a Khalil Jones fluff article a month or so back. He was making the transition to safety or something, everyone was excited....same with Knicky.
It's that time of year."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Wasn't Knicky one of the 3 LBs signed immediately after the draft? I think he was the one with the most impressive sack totals in college, but the competition he played against was suspect, or something like that.
You shouldn't ever get too excited over any of these guys, but it is certainly worth a shot for the team to bring them in. Once in a while one of them makes a huge step up and contributes.
Ford going this early surprises me just a little bit. He has hung around on PS and the roster for a year, and was on the active game day roster a couple times last year. They said several times he had real good instincts for the position. I think he even played ahead of Underwood one or two games until he sprained a knee or something. I expected him to go into camp with the team, but they do have a lot of DBs so someone had to go. Maybe they figured he had his chance, or his knee is still balky, etc.

Is it just me, or is the timing on this weird. The roster limit right now is 80. Before Jolly and Tramon signed their tenders we had 77. So now we have 75 guys on the roster. Does this just foreshadow that they're going to start signing the draft picks, or what?</delurk>

The three day mandatory mini-camp starts Monday. If these guys are the next to be cut when draftees are signed, you might as well cut them now rather than risk an injury that will simply cost money for a player you have no plans for anyway.Originally posted by Lurker64Is it just me, or is the timing on this weird. It could mean that they're eyeballing higher quality camp fodder.

Well, between now and training camp Ted is going to add 7 players to the roster, it's just that those 7 are the 7 guys they drafted in April. Since we have 75 people on the 80 man roster right now, we're going to need to cut at least 2 of the camp bodies pretty soon (3 if Bigby ever decides he wants to be a Packer again). So I don't think we're going be adding any more camp bodies.Originally posted by Scott CampbellIt could mean that they're eyeballing higher quality camp fodder.</delurk>
