Field goal time! First of camp.

38 yards out, fake! Pass comp to lee.

They are practicing some exotic sets.

    Matshay is the holder.

    No kicks.

Great moment just happened. Jail break rush on a rod. He out ran popp to side line and threw it away. Crowd went wild. A rod cam to rail and high fived some fans. When a rod went back to huddle, clay ran after him trying to get a hugh five too. A rod refused. Pretty funny.

Flynn just got picked by bishop! Mr. August strikes again.

Clay just destroyed bulaga. Yikes. A rod would have gotten rocked.

Pickett right in backfield. Nice stop on the run.

A rod to finley along the sideline.

B jack with a great run. What a move.

        Bulaga nice block on clay.

Woodson almost had another. Just off his finger tips.

        Quarles with a nice catch.

Lang whiffed on a run block. He is starting to worry me.

        Defense calling out. "Taco left!"

Bishop just blew up a screen.

        End of practice.

Thanks again, hopefully Lang is just strugging because of his wrist.

            Some final thoughts.

Lang had a rough day. He doesn't look good.

Breno g is playing well. Surprisingly.

            Neal looked average today.

This d could b something special if we had a stud rolb. I never get why guys like tt aren't willing to pull the trigger and add a piece to the puzzle that could lead the team to a super bowl. The new guys at olb r nothing special.

Starks needs to get out there. Grant and b jack are locks but the 3rd spot wide open. Lumpkin and porter are just so-so.

Burnett looked great. Calling shit out and making a pick. Bigby who?

Bulaga is gunna b fine. He jhad some rough moments but u just know he's going to pan out. He will refuse to fail.

Sitton may be the best o linemen. He has a great base and a powerful punch.

            More to come at 630pm!

I guess Baby Bulaga's education begins this week. He'll be fine.
[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

I think tonight is going to be a great practice. All the starters will practice, night time, weekend day - so it will be packed! I cant wait!

Good thread. Also, without seeing our actual starting LB in action (Jones), it's hard to tell how "bad" that position really is. Pop, from what you have been describing, is clearly the backup for that spot. That suites him - he is a "solid" backup LB, just not a starter/every snap type of player. But in spot duty he is okay in the 3-4. he is better suited for the 4-3 though.

So until I see Jones in action, I wont complain much. He is the guy we are relying on getting better after his first year.

Also, isn't matthews the ROLB with Jones being the LOLB. Pretty sure that is how it was last year. Makes sense, since he is beating bulaga, who plays LT, but in the defense that would be the ROLB right?

Or, maybe I have it backwords. I had a rough night.

Yeah, Matthews being the primary rusher, rushes from the QB's blind side, which is the left side of the offense and hence right side of the defense.

Thanks again for the thread. This is what we want to hear. It is a very valuable service you are providing.

Clifton only practices once a day same as last year.
Sounds like the same for Tauscher.
They will both make the roster and don't need too much work. The guys behind them do. Also less chance of wearing them down or risking injury.
Most likely guys coming off injury will get rest.

Sounds like a good practice for Deitrich-Smith and Giacomini.

Not so good for Lang and Harrell.

Bulaga is holding his own against the #1's Jenkins and Matthews getting schooled every so often. If he is doing that early in his rookie camp then he has some real potential to eventually be great.
The good thing is that he is getting a lot of reps against quality players.

                            Same for Burnett.

Sounds like there is some hope for Neal. My hopes for Wynn need to be more revised.
