Is Flynn still hanging on to the #2 spot?
I guess so, whos going to challenge him?
I wish they'd bring in Jeff Garcia.

        Free Doug Pederson
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Not really...Jordy Nelson bruised his ribs or side or something catching a ball in traffic...he should be ok. Brett Swain tweaked his knee that he had surgery on and the severity isn't known. Clay Matthews pulled his hamstring so he'll be out of practice for a bit.

I believe someone mentioned that NFL Network is replaying it tomorrow night.

Eh...I don't think so. The highlights were Finley, BJack's return, and AJ Hawk. I wouldn't make a special trip to watch it.

The word is he "tweaked" it, not that he pulled it. My understanding is that's less severe. He'll probably miss a practice or two though.

Bishop has taken over Hawk's nickel linebacker spot - although they played together Saturday because Nick Barnett was held out - but what the coaches saw had to scare them a little. Granted it was Finley, a tight end few linebackers in the NFL can cover, beating Bishop, but it was a good test on how he'll play coverage.

Hawk, meanwhile, got off to a strong start playing in the nickel, sacking quarterback Matt Flynn for a 7-yard loss, dropping running back Quinn Porter for a 1-yard loss and playing solid coverage in four three-and-out series between the No. 1 defense and No. 2 offense.

Later in the 2-minute drill that pitted the No. 1 offense against the No. 1 defense, Hawk stopped a long drive in its tracks when on third and 1 at the 5-yard line, he shot through a gap without hesitation, took on fullback John Kuhn and dropped running back Ryan Grant for a 4-yard loss.
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

                                I think that's a little one-sided, Brandon494, or too simple.

Hawk has been a professional from day one, IMHO. He played in Vanilla Bob's scheme, then was switched to a 3-4 'backer role.

According to all press I read, he did what he was told to do in the first scheme. I vividly recall 'ol Bob stating Hawk's job was very unspectacular in the scheme, but he was fulfilling his expectations perfectly.

Capers expected far more and Hawk was demoted as a result.

Of course, expectations from fans and media are huge for a #5, but VB was very quick to point out Hawk had completely different assignments in the then Packer scheme compared to his college scheme.

That fact alone was destined to frustrate both player and other 3rd parties, even M3. It didn't frustrate Bob, who was his boss BTW.
