There was a good chance we were keeping 4 regardless. New rookie, finley, havner, and Lee - with Lee possibly being trade bait. What this does is push whoever is the #4 TE for a spot. Who that is right now is not known, but he is the only other "blocking" TE outside of Lee. You would think then it is indeed between those two.
I predict that if Crabtree makes the cut then Lee is gone. I doubt they get much more than a 7 for him though. I wonder if TT would ever trade a guy for "past considerations" the way that Wolf did when he didn't want to someone to end up in the same division. But I would much prefer to see them keep someone like Newhouse or EDS around on the roster than carry 4 TEs when we all know that only two of them have any chance of contributing this year.
And it seems to me that the third fullback/fourth tight end thing is a reflection of special teams. Those are positions that have the kind of players that apparently are needed on special teams.
But so far the JSO has been down on Quinn Johnson - sounds like maybe he needs to either block like a crazy man or learn to play special teams, or he could be gone.
Sounds also like the Pack may be afraid of losing Quarless, which would be why they might keep four. That way they'd have the solid backup in Lee, and the special teams devilry of either Havner or Crabtree (I'd go with Havner since he seems a better receiver right now).
But it appears that that "extra" fullback spot might end up as a fourth tight end. Don't know what I think about that.

[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.
