Thank god that's over. Lot of work to do. Special teams especially. Slocum should be fired right now.

58 yard field goal. Packers went 3 and out. Low punt gave Browns decent field position. 46 yard field goal.I can't run no more
With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

Dawson nailed a 58 or 59 yard field goal to tie. Pack get ball back under 2 min....do nothing with it. Browns get ball and get into field goal range and win.Originally posted by gbgaryso how did they lose it? i was looking at the nfl.com game track and it stopped at 1:42 with the Pack on top.

how long are they going to keep slocum around, the guy has been a disaster since day one
i loved on the first punt how they showed a replay of us double teaming the gunner and holding him up, meanwhile you could see 9 other browns run down field unblocked

Rewatched the game. I watched these guys on every play:
Bryan Bulaga
Morgan Burnett
Brad Jones
Brandon Chillar
B.J. Raji
Justin Harrell
My thoughts:
Bulaga - Outside of getting knocked on his ass on a bull rush, I thought Bulaga played well. (I thought Colledge also had a nice game.)
Burnett - I was a bit disappointed. He was indecisive, missed tackles, tooks some bad angles.
Jones/Chillar - Both were good in coverage, were fine in the run game, but didn't get a whiff of the QB. Went against Joe Thomas much of the night.
Raji - It wasn't a good night for Raji. He didn't provide much of a rush, and he also didn't hold up the blocks well. He washed out on too many plays.
Harrell - Nothing spectacular, but I thought he was a bit better than Raji (of course, he was going up against backups). Stood his ground and got some push at times."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Agreed. I only watched the game once live, but for such a stubby guy, it seemed to me that he got stood up and moved too often.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersRaji - It wasn't a good night for Raji. Going back to his college highlight vids, even on his good plays, he seemed to want to get high right away to see the play and use his natural athleticism to react. Guys couldn't move him out like they can in the NFL. THis carries over from the times he played NT last year from my memory.
I'm confident he'll figure it out/continue to get coached up about it, and it's the first preseason game, so it's a good opportunity to reinforce his fundamentals, but if he keeps this up, he'll find himself relegated to nickel packages only while Pickett moves in and Neal/Harrell step in to play DE in base.

Thanks. I didn't get to watch the game. Good to hear about Harrell. He has a long, long, long way to go before we should be counting our chickens, but it's kind of exciting to think we might have another NFL caliber backup DL on the roster.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersRewatched the game. I forgot to watch Mike Neal the first time, so I rewatched the tape. I thought he looked good. He was a load for journeyman (but long-time NFL backup) Scott Kooistra. He drove him back on most plays. He also showed great awareness on a screen play. He looked a tad undersized, but he looked strong, pretty athletic, and showed some awareness.
So, thumbs down to Raji and Burnett with thumbs up to Bulaga and Neal."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

It's funny, I watched the game today with my brother. I didn't remember exactly what everyone had said. When I left, I said ot my brother, "So we can feel good about Neal and Bulaga and bad about Raji, Burnett and I also thought Underwood looked lost at times."Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersI forgot to watch Mike Neal the first time, so I rewatched the tape.
