I am in MN and Justin Morneau and Pierre Marc Buchard have missed SIGNIFICANT time because of head injuries in their respective sports...I HOPE he is ok.Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. When it comes to concussions, there's a difference between "being medically cleared to play" and "being clear-headed enough to play at a high level." The former is granted to people who will not risk any further injury or harm by playing whatever it is they play, and the latter is highly dependent on what you do. Baseball and hockey require a really high degree of awareness, hand eye-coordination, and quick recognition of small details. Football, except at the QB position, requires less of all of that. As soon as Grant is certified by an independent neurologist that his brain physiology has returned to normal, he'll be back on the field. This generally happens on a time table between "hours" and "weeks" depending on the severity of the injury. Early reports indicate that Grant will almost certainly be back before the season, even if he misses a preseason game or two.Originally posted by Tony OdayI am in MN and Justin Morneau and Pierre Marc Buchard have missed SIGNIFICANT time because of head injuries in their respective sports...I HOPE he is ok.
Morneau's not being held out because he stands a risk of further injuring his brain, he's being held out because the lingering symptoms of his concussion have made it very difficult to hit major league pitching (which, as I understand it, is quite difficult even without headaches.)</delurk>

I think this is a new rule in the NFL this year isn't it? The whole neurologist thing?
I think we will be fine until he comes back but it sure would be nice to see him healthy an entire season."Once the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the Republic.”

Well, he's pretty good with the ball once he gets it past the line of scrimmage. So worst case scenario, we just never run the ball. If you want the equivalent of a running play, you run a screen pass or a dump-off to the RB in the flat. It's like the early 90s Packers!Originally posted by Scott CampbellOriginally posted by falcoI think Jackson has come a long way since he was forced to start as a rook in 07. I think he could carry the load.
He sure has the coaching staff on his side, and seems pretty assignment sure. Too bad he can't run worth a crap.</delurk>
