I think they keep one less linemen and Brett Swain makes the roster. He is too valuable on special teams, our biggest weakness, to not make it.

I think you are spot on Joe. I think Zombo looked very good last night and will make the roster.

Oline? I don't think we can afford to go with less than 9. We have two aging veterans who both missed time last year due to injury as our tackles. We need to have youth available.

          Just places I disagree:

I think Porter doesn't make it, and we keep the 3 FB's again. PS for him.

I sort of agree with the OL, but do we really keep 2 pure centers and Spitz?? Not sure what other angle we might play, but one of the young guys with potential may get the nod, but I can't imagine how you cut the centers when they all have earned a spot.

I think Jarius wynn is a goner unless they think Wilson may slip to practice squad. I don't see them keeping both these guys. More likely they go with 6.

Other than that I can't argue with you (and I guess I didn't really). We are a funny team, but TT is his own man. 4 TE's and 3 FB's...soon all the teams will be doing it.

Hard to predict the roster at this point since I'm almost 100% certain that Thompson is going to swing some trade near the final cutdowns to prop up a position where we lack depth. My guess is we get a LB or an RB at cutdowns, if not both.

Colledge, Spitz, Bush, and Quinn Johnson could all be tradeable assets.

Not much to argue with there. I think Starks is PUP'd for six weeks instead of/prior to IR.

Crabtree was given a few plays with the 1's last night in a traditional TE position with Finley spread out at the same time. Quarless also doubled up with Finley on at least one occasion. Not sure it means much at this point, but it could suggest that Lee's salary may get him squeezed out. Lee was on many of the first-team special teams however.

I haven't read much about EDS this preseason, but he seems to me to have a bigger gut and has been less effective this year than last.

                  You nailed the defense, Joe.

I quibbled over some of the offensive players, bolded changes, and inserted comments into your quote. Nice post!

Swede: you had Crabtree on the roster and the practice squad. I don't think he's that versatile.

Also, Obiozor is PS eligible since he has less than 9 games under his belt (he has 5) and wasn't on the regular season roster the whole year.

Toribio, however, is not since a team is prohibited from keeping a player on the practice squad for more than 2 years. He was on the PS for the last two. This year he either makes the team, or he's gone. Other than that, the PS complement is fine. Probably won't see all those players make it through waivers though, and Thompson does like to use the PS to exhaustively scout street FAs, so there'll be one or two revolving door slots.

Heh...forgot to delete him from Joe's PS predictions. I'll fix it.

You are right about TT usually keeping a few PS spots open for street FA's. Joe is good, but he's not going to predict which three street FA's TT signs to the PS.

The only places I think the numbers are off are OL - I don't think we keep 9, I think we keep 3 FB's, Quinn Johnson is a real talent, and I don't think we will keep 4 TE's. We may keep 4 RB's and another DL, who those may be I don't know. I haven't been impressed with anyone accept Quinn, Bulaga, Bryan, and Shields (outside of his rock hands).

I would like to see some other players brought in to camp and would like Thompson to start shopping around the bubble players with value now.

I like your style swede...I thought i was bold adding the 3rd FB (due to Kuhn's versatility), but you trumped me by adding a 5th TE. Has it ever been done before?? I wouldn't complain if they did it though.

I predict they keep Kuhn as the third halfback, keep Hall and Johnson, cut Donald Lee, and make a trade for a backup linebacker before the end of training camp.
