Evan Dietrich-Smith said minutes ago that the Packers told him they will cut him if they can't find someone who wants him in a trade. McDonald and Jason Spitz will probably both make the team.
so you're telling me hall, the third FB and only really does anything on ST is more valuable then a guy that can play 37 different positions?
I don't understand it at all. Havner has been a solid player for the Packers. He can intercept a pass or score a freakin TD as a TE...I'm pissed.
Yeah, but if we have guys on either side of the ball who can do the same things, he is expendable...
Havner > Crabtree and Quarless
Wow...not sure what you are watching. He's not a better blocker than Crabtree nor a better receiver than Quarless. Both guys have more upside than him.

He's a better receiver than Quarless....Quarless is inconsistent, but he is young.
Can someone help me understand who the hell Nick McDonald is? Rookie? Snd year guy? Guard/center? Big mauler, or what?
This is some crazy stuff. No Havner? Hmm. They must really, really like Crabtree.
But now who's going to coach special teams and perform marriage ceremonies?
McDonald is a rookie undrafted FA who came in and immediately displayed really good footwork in OTA's. He's been at the bottom of the totem pole all camp, so it's a surprise from that perspective.
All indications are that undrafted rookie OL Nick McDonald has made the 53-man roster. A lot of teams were interested in him based on his play in preseason games and the Packers apparently aren't willing to trade or cut him. Not sure what that means for Dietrich-Smith.
WTH?
Story on him has been that he is raw but extremely powerful. Last couple weeks they have said that he has been coming on quickly, and had improved a lot after a so-so early camp.

I consider myself someone who follows the pack pretty closely, but when I read that, I thought 'who??'
