While I liked the idea of Havner's flexibility, I didn't see him being a long term success.

IMO it was a classic case of 'jack of all trades...'. Not that I have first hand experience or anything, but everything I've heard indicates that it would be pretty much impossible for anyone to know both an offensive and defensive NFL playbook - not to mention some assignment stuff on ST.

I'd guess he didn't shine enough on either side of the ball.

They also need linebackers, which is apparently what he'll be playing for the Lions (makes sense too, with Sheffler and if Pettigrew is healthy, there's not a lot of snaps for another TE).
