He got it done on teh field in the past, but its hard to get upset about this one. The guy certainly has some flags.

Yes, the concussions and the fumbles. If you want a speedy guy with some shiftiness who may have a hard time hanging on to the ball, there's a FA out there named Jason Chery."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

And possibly more so, the knees. He missed 2 of 4 games this preseason because of knee problems.Originally posted by FritzYes, the concussions and the fumbles. If you want a speedy guy with some shiftiness who may have a hard time hanging on to the ball, there's a FA out there named Jason Chery.

True he missed games because of his knees, but not due to injury. He had gout (which I thought was more of a foot/ankle problem than knees).Originally posted by get louder at lambeauAnd possibly more so, the knees. The Miami Dolphins signed former Pro Bowl kick returner Clifton Smith and cut offensive tackle Joe Reitz."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Ya , but you can also argue that if you put someone with actually speed back there with the blocking our ST had, they would've scored twice or got even more yards.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersAfter week #1:

Actual speed? Per another poster in another thread, Jordy's combine 40 was 4.47 and still holds the state records for HS 100m. That's fast enough for ST.Originally posted by steve823Ya , but you can also argue that if you put someone with actually speed back there with the blocking our ST had, they would've scored twice or got even more yards.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersAfter week #1:

My dad told kept telling me if we had Desmond Howard back there (he was reliving the Super Bowl year) that we would had scored 2 or 3 TD's on kickoff returns.Originally posted by steve823Ya , but you can also argue that if you put someone with actually speed back there with the blocking our ST had, they would've scored twice or got even more yards.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersAfter week #1:

Assuming a faster, shiftier runner got to the spots where Nelson was tackled, yes they may have gone all the way. The problem with that assumption is that getting to where Nelson was tackled resulted more from timing with the blockers, reliance on the return plan and vision for seeing the lanes than it did on speed. A faster return man may not have done those things as well as Nelson did last week and may have run up the backside of blockers too soon and been tackled much earlier, or he may have gone all the way untouched. Neither one is a certainty.Originally posted by channthemanMy dad told kept telling me if we had Desmond Howard back there (he was reliving the Super Bowl year) that we would had scored 2 or 3 TD's on kickoff returns.Originally posted by steve823Ya , but you can also argue that if you put someone with actually speed back there with the blocking our ST had, they would've scored twice or got even more yards.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersAfter week #1:

Love Desmond Howard - he made a lot of plays. But there were a lot of his returns that were blocked up perfectly. Did anyone actually watch Smith last week? Have to see the whole thing to know why his return numbers were low.Originally posted by PatlerAssuming a faster, shiftier runner got to the spots where Nelson was tackled, yes they may have gone all the way. His return numbers were low because he rejected the Green Bay Packers and God is punishing him.Originally posted by mraynrandLove Desmond Howard - he made a lot of plays.
