I almost was going to be looking to do the same thing. fortunately, I get two sets of local networks and one of them decided to carry the packers. they must have just switched today because when i checked earlier this week it wasn't going to be on.

you still have time to find a good bar to catch the game!
We went to our local watering hole that has a room set aside for us Packer fans and the damn satellite was on the fritz!!! I'll have to wait until the replay on NFL Network later this week to see more besides a couple of highlights on BSPN.
I did not notice any satellite on my back today.

        • We now know Fritz's true identity. Unfortunately, the game wasn't on NBC.

Yeah. We dominate bad teams on our off days.
psst - you did see the 2nd quarter right? When we made Lynch look like a probowler, instead of a 3rd string rb?

Dom made some great adjustments at halftime, THEN we dominated.

Better to have a bad quarter in the 2nd than the 4th! That's progress!

            2-0. Read it and weep.
See, Justin, these are the posts that cause me to think that you just don't get it.

I commented that the 2nd quarter sucked. It was better than the 4th quarter sucking. Lynch should not have been able to run wild on this defense. He did. Good news is Capers figured out how to shut him down, and I saw some very good half time adjustments (also a previous rarity in GB).

I'm delighted the team is 2-0. I expected it, remember? I wasn't shitting you or the forum about 19-0 and the Super Bowl. I was pulling your leg HARD in the way I expressed it, but I EXPECT it to happen.

Ideally, today, we'd have had 4 quarters of complete domination against a very weak opponent. We got 3 quarters. I am thrilled with that.

Bears vs Packers on MNF next - this will be a nailbiter. This game is for AR to win for us 'cos Packers D will be exposed and fold when they should stand tall. Bold predictions!

Disagree. The offense looked good. We scored on 6 of 9 possesions.

Clay is a beast but the whole team was getting pressure. When Jenkins gets push and Hawk blitzed well it becomes next to impossible to double Clay unless you are going to run 2 and 3 WR routes and max protect.

We dominated a weaker team like we should. We held Buffalo to 186 yards. Of which 80 came on 1 drive. So for the rest of the game Buffalo had 106 yards. As much as people want to say the 2nd Q sucked BUFF only had one drive that quarter.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

I didn't see the game but interesting to hear that both Jenkins and Hawk were providing some pressure. It will be interesting to see how Martz tries to counter that: normally he is not one to run lots of max protect and the routes in his scheme require time. Maybe Chi will ask Cutler to buy time with his feet if their OL isn't up to the task, but I could also see Matthews (or someone else) having a big day at the line's expense.

I guess the thing that I really like about Clay is his short burst speed. He changes directions and gets to top speed so quick. I would not want my QB to have to buy time with that guy rushing. Edwards made LBs miss a couple of times with quick movement left and right but Matthews was always right there.

Hmm Packers run game went nowhere and AR + receivers didn't kick in till after half. Oh and Bills suck big time!

Packers can and must play better to beat the Bears...on the road...on MNF. I sense a wakeup call game for Packers! Could go either way.

Re-Focused: Week 2, Bills at Packers
                              September 21st, 2010 | Author: Nathan Jahnke
This game started out close but then turned into a blowout. The Bills showed a little bit of spark in the 2nd quarter with their running backs running wild, but the offensive line was dismantled by the Packers which didn’t allow for the Bills to have much offense.

One of the interesting story lines of this game included the Marshawn Lynch for A.J. Hawk trade drama. Both players saw a significant increase in their playing time compared to the first week, and both played well.

The Bills defense did uncharacteristically well against the run, getting a score of +10.9, but the Packers passing attack returned to its 2009 form with a +4.5 in passing and +4.4 in pass protection which let the Packers come away with a big victory.

                              BILLS

The Bills problems in recent years have had to do with the offensive line, and this game was no different. On the right side of the line was guard Eric Wood (-4.9) and tackle Cornell Green (-4.7), who each had ratings worse than -2.0 in both pass and run protection. They both performed adequately against the Dolphins, but had no answer for Clay Matthews and the rest of the Packers. They allowed a combined 8 QB pressures which left Trent Edwards little chance to be successful.

A high point on the day for the Bills was defensive end Dwan Edwards. He moved around a lot along the defensive line and had a rating of +3.0 which came from a positive rating in every category. He came up with three of the Bills four QB pressures and also chimed in with two stops. His +2.1 rating against the run can help give Bills fans hope that they can still have a good defense this season.

Cornerback Drayton Florence (-1.2) who was very inconsistent last season has started the season consistently performing poorly. Florence was thrown at three times while covering Donald Driver and Greg Jennings, and allowed catches on all three occasions. He only had one tackle, and also allowed the Driver touchdown.

                              PACKERS

Second year defensive tackle B.J. Raji has been asked to step up this year and in this game passed expectations. He has been given the most snaps amongst the Packers defensive lineman so far, and put together an excellent rating of +5.0. This made it not only the best game of his career to date but also the best game by a Packers defensive tackle since we started recording PFF statistics. Raji came up with three pressures, and a +2.8 rating against the run.

After playing no snaps with the defense last week, LB A.J. Hawk (+4.2) played in 44 this week and also performed well. Against the run he had a +1.9 rating. In the past Hawk’s weakness has been in pass coverage, and this year he had lost his job to Brandon Chillar on passing downs. The Packers didn’t believe the Bills would throw much of the time, even in three receiver sets so they left Hawk in. He had four QB pressures and one hit on just six pass rushes, and was never thrown at on any of the 10 occasions he did drop back in pass coverage.

The only Packer to have more than 30 snaps and a score in the red was guard Daryn Colledge. While the rest of the line only allowed one hit and one pressure on Rodgers, Colledge allowed three pressures. This resulted in a -1.7 pass protection rating and a -3.1 rating overall. This was Colledge’s worst game since early on in the 2009 season, and leaves the option open for Brian Bulaga to replace Colledge if he doesn’t permanently replace Chad Clifton.

                              ROOKIE REPORT

Both teams had a number of rookies play in this game, including high draft picks as well as undrafted players. For the Bills, first round pick C.J. Spiller (+0.1) saw less action with only 16 offensive snaps in this game, but performed better. He did have six kick returns and had a +1.8 special teams rating because of it. Second round pick Torell Troup saw limited action on the defensive line and had a -1.3 rating.

The Bills also had two undrafted players see time on offense. WR David Nelson came in whenever they had a four receiver set and dropped the one ball that was thrown at him. When Andy Levitre was injured on the fourth play of the game, Cord Howard came in and performed better than most of the Bills line, registering a -1.0 grade.

For the Packers, the big rookie news was first round pick Brian Bulaga replacing Chad Clifton in the second quarter and putting up a 0.0 rating; his perfect day in pass protection (+0.9) being cancelled out by his false start. Third round pick Morgan Burnett (+0.7) and undrafted free agent Sam Shields (+1.7) both played the majority of the game on defense and had a better second game than first. Shields only allowed a four yard catch, and Burnett had an interception.

More Packers to see action were 7th round pick DE C.J. Wilson who made his NFL debut in a goal line play followed by garbage time in the fourth quarter. Undrafted rookie Frank Zombo also had some garbage time in the fourth quarter, and newly acquired Dimitri Nance had two runs for eight yards and a penalty

                              RANDOM NOTE

On six plays, the Packers used a formation including Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones, Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley. On those plays, Aaron Rodgers was 4 for 6 for 64 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 long first downs.
