  • Did Campen Ruin Lang?

Well did he? Lang's was inactive yesterday and didn't play either of the first two games (but too lazy to check the inactive histories). He was on a solid tear last year, but seemed pedestrian this year. However, he also had wrist surgery, so that could be some of it.

So what's contributing to him seemingly not being in a position to wrest a starting position from Tauscher should Tauscher's play decline further (or remain declined)?

Absolutely! He was better before this!

No, be patient. He's just recovering from surgery.

No. He's fine and is poised to take over if necessary.

No. He was just a flash in the pan.

No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.

Lang's wrist surgery in the off-season apparently kept him from working out and from working on his blocking fundamentals. He's still catching up apparently. I think it's possible though, that he could have done more than he did, and the coaching staff has placed him in the doghouse a bit because of his lack of progression from first to second year.

The other issue related to his dressing for the games comes down to numbers and special teams. With Bulaga and Spitz as primary back-ups across the line, the fact that Lang doesn't play special teams makes him odd man out for the most part at this point.

I still think he's part of the solution.

      It's Campen's magic touch.

Get Sitton and Bulaga the hell away from him!
