  • Cundiff has competition

Thank God, Edinger's not too bad
    (from jsonline)

No worry: Kicker Billy Cundiff shrugged off the decision by the Packers on Wednesday to have six-year veteran kicker Paul Edinger in for a tryout.

"I really don't care," Cundiff said. "I mean, as long as I'm here that kid won't be here. I see no reason why he would come in. The selling points for myself is, I've got experience and I'm kicking really well and I've got a strong leg. But my job isn't to tell them who is better. My job is to show them."
To much of a good thing is an awesome thing

First I heard of this move to give Paul Edinger a try out.

SOLID T2. Now . . we have a real fight for that position.

Glad to hear Cundiff has the right attitude.

He's not crying his eyes out over a little competition a la Mark Roman or Ashlie Lelie.

Edinger stinks. He's been awful kicking outdoors in his career. I'd rather have Cundiff win the job. Edinger's two kicks against Green Bay last year have some thinking he's better than he is.

Edinger was 19 for 33 outdoors the last two years. He was 21 for 25 inside.
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Sherm's gone, otherwise we might consider keeping an indoor and an outdoor kicker.

Yea, maybe 4. A FG kicker for indoor, one for outdoor and then an indoor and outdoor kickoff specialist.

The Packers worked out former Minnesota Vikings kicker Paul Edinger earlier this week. Edinger left Green Bay without an offer.

Packers GM Ted Thompson said bringing in Edinger isn't a reflection on a lack of confidence in kicker Billy Cundiff.

"We're fine with the kickers that we have now," Thompson said. "We'll bring in tons of players between now and January. We bring guys in and look at them."

If we could clear out some of those DT's and LB's, then we could also make room for a left-footed and a right-footed punter.

That would totally confuse the returner, as he would never know which spin he'd receive until the ball's in the air.

Excuse me, as I'm going to develop some drills to make my upcoming children ambidextrous punters.
I believe in God, family, Baylor University, and the Green Bay Packers.

We don't have the kicker we need as yet. Dam!

Why didn't T2 hold onto Ryan? Ahhh!!

Ryan was a baby, but he is a great kicker.
