Driver against Carroll? Now I know he made the right decision. I could be wrong, but I didn't think it was Carroll. Carroll was running with the #1 defense with Woodson out.Originally posted by pittstang5Are you refering to the nice catch Driver made. I think it was against Carroll and Culver. Either way, Favre got lucky.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersHe threw one ball into double coverage. It was to Donald Driver against turds like Fontenot and Bogar covering. I think it's smart to throw into double coverage when those turds are trying to cover Driver.

Rodgers seemed to throw into double coverage a couple of times, but he looked better, of course."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Caw! Caw! Caw! I know. Brett has built up all of his great numbers because of the prowess of his receivers to win jump balls in double coverage. Whatever! How's your college team going to do this year?Originally posted by b bulldogWalker got real good at that"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. Walker did make Brett look better than he was three years ago. He was the first WR to do so since Brett was the QB in GB.Pass Jessica's Law and keep the predators behind bars for 25 years minimum. Vote out liberal, SP judges. Enforce all immigrant laws!

It was Driver against Culver Carroll but I wouldn't even classify it as double coverage becuase thats how bad Carroll was beaten on the play. Driver had to stop and come back and jump for the ball and Carrol though in the picture by that point did not have a play on the ball. My first impression was that Favre should not have thrown the ball into double coverage, after seeing a coulpe of replays I think it was a good decision, OK throw and Great catch.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersDriver against Carroll? Cory Rodgers took a big step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. He didn't drop any kicks, punts or passes and he showed the short area burst and deceptive strength that makes him tough to bring down. Hands down I like Jennings but Rodgers looks like one of those guys who plays better when it matters. He's going to have to build one preseason game on another but this was his first real step forward IMHO. I was hoping he'd shine with the pads on.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

He's fighting for the 5th spot. I believe he did have one bad route/drop and a couple nice catches (one wear he got caught on a good pursuit angle cutoff). The receivers looked much more in sync with the QB (more than the 2nd half of last season) anyways.Originally posted by GregJenningsCory Rodgers took a big step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. No one that has shined as a solid KO/punt return guy. A specialist is usually needed at that position to change field position in an instant. Using Jennings is risky and Woodson sounds like he doesn't want to do it either. Hopefully some guys will recover from their injuries to see some preseason action and heal in time for 9/10.The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.

I was pleased with the way both Brett and Rogers were communicating with McCarthy on the sideline which they amost never did with Sherman when he was here. McCarthy said it's important for them to be on the same page and I think it will help cut down on interceptions, people running the wrong routes, & etc.
I was also pleased with McCarthy's commitment to the running game, here's a quote: "Running the football is a commitment, running the football is a four-quarter journey," McCarthy said.
"It's not very often you come out in this league ripping people with the run game," McCarthy said. I didn't look at it all that the run game struggled, and we had the run at the end there that Samkon scored on.
"The biggest thing running the football is you don't want negative runs, you want to keep hammering away at the defense for a four-quarter commitment. It was our first opportunity for live work, cut blocking and things like that. I thought we got off to a solid start."
I'm also pretty sure there wasn't a fumble the entire scrimmage. Sure, it was sloppy but I like the enthusiasm and pound the ball philosophy so far. Thanks Ted!

I put every Packer game I watch on the tube on tape and study it like Mike Sherman.Originally posted by Fosco33I watched and recorded the game. I'll do a quick recap of the 1st and 2nd string offense - on QB/RB/OL/WR/TE breakdown. Got nothing much else to do and you guys have given plenty in the past... I'll post it later after rewatching the plays more closely.
That is the best way to watch the game. To see inside the play - to enjoy another Donald Driver spectacular catch.

I'm surprised you'd say/think that b bulldog.Originally posted by b bulldogIn my mind, Rodgers looked better than Brett until that pic.
Aaron may get it down in say 3-4 more seasons.
Favre's contract expires in what, 2010?
