  • Death of Dandy Don

One of the great Packers rivals of the 1960s, Cowboys QB "Dandy Don" Meredith died last night at the age of 72: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...t.8ac4895.html
He started for the Cowboys at QB in the last two NFL championship games of the Lombardi era. Good quarterback and a fun personality. "Turn out the lights..."
Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.

MNF has never been as good as it was in those days

Agreed. And it will never be as good until they find a player for that booth who has that sensibility and a play by play guy who zips it.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

True tribute by a true Packer fan; RIP Dan and what a legacy the football '60ties were. I'm impressed.

Ron Santo, Dandy Don and Hank Raymonds--happens in threes.

RIP Dandy Don. MNF was at it's pinnacle with that trio in the booth IMHO.
